Vivian DeFere Obituary

DeFere, Vivian L.

Vivian L. DeFere, age 83, of 1801 South 12th Street of Manitowoc died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her residence.

Vivian was born May 15, 1929 in Fish Creek, daughter of the late Harold and Leona Copiskey Fairchild. She married Gilbert DeFere on March 17, 1956 in Door County. He preceded her in death June 12, 1976.

Survivors include two children: Brian DeFere and fiancee Cathy Vogel, Manitowoc; Scott (Sarah) DeFere, Manitowoc; one granddaughter: Anna Vigue, Manitowoc; one great-grandson: Jose Acosta, Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Jeanette (Vernon) Meyer; Sturgeon Bay; and Tina Vertz. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband; Gilbert DeFere; infant daughter: Cynthia DeFere; two brothers: Roy "Bucky" Fairchild; Roger Vertz.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Deacon Al Boeldt will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
