Carol Chaney Obituary

Nampa - Carol Chaney Obituary

Carol Evalena Chaney gently passed into eternity on June 16, 2025, surrounded by three generations of her family. Carol was born on March 13, 1940, at home in Macy, Indiana as the first of seven brothers and sisters to Wilfred Dale and Lillian Maxine Hisey. She graduated from Rochester High School in Rochester, Indiana in 1958. At graduation, she received certifications in Gregg Shorthand courses.

Carol's first child, Kenneth Dale Hisey, was born on July 7, 1960, and passed away a short time later July 8, 1960, in Indiana. Carmen Denise Hisey, her first daughter, was born on November 2, 1961 Peru, Indiana.

Some time later Carol met James Roy Chaney from Adrian, Oregon who, at the time, was stationed at an Air Force Base there in Indiana. They married on September 6, 1963, and celebrated 59 years of marriage before he passed away on May 3, 2023. James brought a son, Leslie James Chaney, to this union. Three more daughters were added to the family over the years: Eugenia Lucette, Kirsten Dione Lynn, and Marilynn JoAnn.

While Carol had many jobs over the years, she was most proud of the time she spent in food service for several local schools. During that time, she attained certification in Child Nutrition from Boise State University, Boise, Idaho. Upon retirement she was recognized for fifteen years of dedicated service in June 2002. Another proud accomplishment was compiling and creating a family cookbook with recipes from multiple generations of family. After retirement, she counted family as her greatest joy.

Carol is survived by her four daughters: Carmen and Jeff Classen, Eugenia Chaney, Kirsten Chaney, Marilynn Chaney. She is survived by ten grandchildren: Tama and Michael Small, Chelsea and Andrew Patton, Courtney and Javier DeAnda, Charity and Aaron Risser, Ashley and Shawn Albano, Abigail and Edmilson Silva, Lydia and Eric Palmer, Matthew Chaney, David Chaney and Katelynn Garner. She is also survived by one sister Shirley Irwin and one brother Ronald Hisey.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Maxine Hisey, one sister and three brothers.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa, Idaho. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa, Idaho.
