David Frickey Obituary

Nampa - David Eugene Frickey went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 19, 2024, with his family at his side. He was born in Nampa, Idaho, on May 6, 1945. David was the only child of Lila and Howard Frickey of Namps, Idaho. He went to school at Roosevelt Elementary, Central Junior High, Nampa High, and graduated from BSU with his degree in Drafting and Architectural Design.

David married Louise Moran in 1964, and they had two children, Ken Frickey of Nampa, and Daynna Skiver of Meridian. Dave worked at UPFE shops in Nampa until 1980. He also worked in the engineering department at JR Simplot Caldwell, from 1983 until 1998. He then started his own business, D &D Drafting and Design. Dave also worked for IESM in engineering until he retired.

Some of his personal interests included his love to fish; he took his last ocean fishing trip with his family, July of 2022. Dave also loved hunting, flying RC planes, drag racing, oval track racing and traveling in the motor home. He loved family gatherings and especially loved big family barbeques.

Dave is survived by his wife, Louise, son, Ken Frickey (Sylvia), and daughter, Daynna Skiver. In addition, other family members include his five grandchildren, Krystal (Tyson) Edwards, Jacob (Amanda) Frickey, Sarah Martinez (String), Keysha (Ryan) Mohran, and Christian Hill. Also he has four great grandchildren, Jordan (Lizzy) Edwards, Kade Edwards, Hazel Mohran, Sophie Mohran, many cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, and brother-in laws.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow View Nursing and Rehab center in Nampa, for the care and kindness Dave received while there. We will have a memorial service for Dave at a later date.

Although we did not get to know David for a long time. I wanted to take a minute and express my condolences to "Dude". David was always so nice when we would go visit my Dad (his roomie) and even made a point to tell my daughter Happy Birthday on her birthday! He was a very sweet man. Louise, you are in our prayers and I am thankful I was able to give you one last hug as I knew. We also left to give your family time with David. Our sincere apologies for your loss.
