David M. "Dave" Lammey

1960 - 2023

Nampa - David, fondly known as Dave, was born to Frank and Thelma Lammey, on September 2, 1960, in Caldwell, Idaho where he grew up, graduating from Caldwell High School in 1978. He was a hard-working guy who loved fast cars. In his high school days, he loved drag racing at Firebird and the streets of Caldwell. He worked for Archer Daniels Midland for 30 years and had a perfect safety score (10,300 days) which was the envy of all plants. Dave loved driving his chromed-up semi and was always ready and willing to travel to other states to help other ADM plants. He was very proud of his Diamond Elite status at Best Western Hotels from all those travels. Dave was the kind of guy who could make friends with anyone. He was a social guy that could crack jokes with people he just met, especially at restaurants.

In 1981 Dave married the love of his life Debbie Blecha. They had two amazing children and loved to travel, camp, and have way too much fun together. Dave and his son Chris loved to go on adventures, whether that was Jeep-ing, motorcycle rides, or working on projects. Dave was so proud of both his children and lived for his family! He enjoyed many get-togethers with family as often as possible and was always teasing all his kids. He was the king of the smoker and had just gotten a brand new Traeger after his original one lasted over twenty years. Dave was also a beloved doggy daddy and is already greatly missed by his favorite pal, Bella, who Dave was always rolling around with, and his grand-pup Zoey. A few years ago, he had to say goodbye to his best doggy, Maggie, and missed her greatly.

While Dave left us far too soon, the impact he had on our community can be seen by the outpouring of love throughout the Treasure Valley. The family wants to express their appreciation and amazement at the many people who have shared how much they loved Dave and how greatly he will be missed.

Dave is preceded in death by his father Frank Lammey, and his beloved beagle Maggie. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his son Christopher (Sarah) Lammey, daughter Kayla (Bardo) Martinez, and cherished grandson CJ Lammey. He is also survived by his mother Thelma Lammey and sister Alice (Ron) Salisbury.
