Herbert Melton Morrison

1926 - 2021

Caldwell - It is with great sadness in our hearts to announce that Herbert M. Morrison, age 95, passed away on May 11, 2021, while at home in Caldwell, Idaho. He was born on February 18, 1926, to Newton and Jessie (Baird) Morrison in Canton, Oklahoma, the thirteenth child of a family of fourteen children. He served his country during World War II as a Marine stationed in the South Pacific and then Occupied Japan from 1944 until 1947.

He married his first love, Wanda Lu Hoppis, the beautiful girl next door in 1948. They began their life together in Colorado, later moving to Australia and then finally settling north of Middleton, Idaho in 1959 on their dairy farm until he retired in 1990.

Herbert's focus in life was family and his love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He truly enjoyed the life of a dairy farm owner. He also loved tinkering with projects in his shop, working on his tractors, and watching Boise State football.

Herbert and Wanda had four children. Charlotte (Roger) Miller, Pasco; James (Marcia) Morrison, Seattle; Sherry (Norm) Case, Boise; and Linda (Carl) Smith, Vancouver, WA. Herbert married his second love, the delightful Delila Harvey in 2000.

He is proceded in death by Wanda, two sons-in-law, his parents and all his siblings. He is survived by Delila, his four children, grandchildren Teresa, Todd, James, Donald, Christina, Cathey, Caren, Jennifer, Daniel, and Tiffany; as well as a host of great-grandchildren.

The service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:30am at the Oregon Trail Church of God in Caldwell. The family encourages donations to Honor Flight of Idaho (https://www.honorflight.org/donate-online.html), in lieu of sending flowers.
