Jeffrey McKinnon Obituary

Jeffrey Neal McKinnon
January 7, 1973 - April 25, 2017
Jeffrey Neal McKinnon, 44, of Meridian died April 25, 2017, at his home. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on Friday May 5th from 6-10pm at the Elk's Lodge, 1015 N Kimball Ave, Caldwell. This is to be a celebration instead of a memorial, please bring a funny story to share.
Jeff was born January 7, 1973, in Caldwell, Idaho to Margaret and Clark McKinnon. He graduated from Caldwell High where he served as student body president. He attended the College of Idaho and later completed a bachelor's degree in Business.
Jeff loved being on the stage and his flair for singing and acting was apparent early. He performed in dozens of plays and musicals throughout his life. His talent helped him excel in his career as a trainer at CitiBank. He enjoyed visiting new places, experiencing other cultures, and trying new foods. His career gave him many opportunities to travel in the US and abroad.
Jeff's sense of humor and outgoing personality made him the heartbeat of all of his personal and professional circles. He was a true friend and mentor to many. He was the life of the party.
Jeff is survived by several aunts and uncles, 16 cousins, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother Maggie, his father Clark, and his younger sister Nikki.
Jeff hated pinochle!

So sorry. I just heard as I was not working when Jeff passed. I remember his portrayal of Sean Connery at our town hall meetings at which he was always entertaining. Very sad. My thoughts and prayers with his closer friends and family.

My heart is sad today, learning of Jeff's passing. He and I were in the same nursery together after being born 44 years ago and I was grateful to know him as long as I did. It was an honor to work with him on music during high school and I always smile with a memory of him.

Rest easy, Jeff!

You were the heart and soul of our training division at CITI. The stories that you told and the people you trained will never forget you. I once spoke to you on a very serious matter and your comments put it in perspective. You said" show people what you can, to the best of your ability and what they take from it is up to them". I follow that advice daily. Thank you Jeff for allowing me into your private side. I will never forget you. Rest peacefully my friend.

Jeff is a legend with my kids at our house. I tell them of this really funny guy who just got along with everyone. I always thought he would do anything-Then on our high school trips to Point Reyes and Seattle I'd try to put him up to do something outlandish and I can just seem him now saying, "I am not going to do thaaaat!" The man had few boundaries, but he did have them. I loved his Facebook posts. He made us all laugh and then think, and then not take ourselves too seriously again. I will miss Jeff greatly.

I best remember "Jeffness" from the Missoula Children's Theatre performances with my son Matt. They were the BEST Laurel and Hardey!! They were the Town Criers and they delivered the town news...crying! It was hilarious! The audience, too, was in tears...from laughing. We were honored to have him in our home many times. He is, and always will be, on my family picture wall, as family. I appreciated his command of the English language. I would read his fb looooong entries over and over. I will miss his stories of cooking in his rice cooker! And I will miss your silly giggle. Jeff, you are a gift. Thank you for being a part of our lives. We will miss you terribly.

I am still in shock. Jeff was a truly funny man with a heart as big as the world. He would tell jokes in training class and I would bust up laughing because no one else got it, because they were all so much younger than he and I. Best in peace Jeff. Much love!

Jeff was always one to make others feel at ease. His charisma and humor will be the elements of his personality I will always remember. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. My only regret is I didn't maintain contact like I should have. I will miss you Jeff. Until we meet again...

My first memory of Jeff was as a third grader, during a time when we all paraded our Halloween costumes from classroom to classroom. Jeff was dressed as a little old lady and had the best costume of all, hands-down. He has been a cherished friend since then, and will be sorely missed. Thanks for all the smiles while we had you, Jeff! You were an amazing person and a true friend.
