Joe Henry Obituary

Nampa - Joe Harold Henry, 78 of Nampa, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jan. 9, 2025. He died peacefully at home with his family after a long battle from a brain injury. Joe was born April 16, 1946 in Montevideo, MN to John and Fern Henry who had seven strapping sons in eight years. His family moved to Nampa, ID when he was 10. He graduated from Nampa High in 1964. Joe and his twin brother were quite the pitcher/catcher baseball duo. After high school he served six years in the Army National Guard.

Joe worked at Birdseye where he met the love of his life, Nancy Henry. They were married in 1969. Their daughters Jodi and Lisja were born in 1971 and 1972.

As a skilled welder, fabricator and mechanic, Joe set an example as a hard worker at H & H Keim and Crookham Seed Co. Joe and Nancy owned and operated American Sign and Service for 17 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family riding horses, skiing and their annual family camping trip to Silver Creek for the 4th of July. Joe loved hunting with his family and friends.

Joe gave his life to the Lord when he was 17. He taught Sunday School and relished sharing what God had done in his life, and leading others to Jesus. At 56 he began a battle with a brain injury following a motorcycle accident. His devoted wife, Nancy, cared for him faithfully to the end.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, John and Fern Henry; brothers: Byron, Karl and Les. Joe is survived by Nancy, his wife of nearly 56 years; their daughters: Jodi McCune (Trace) and Lisja Brothers (Randy) and his brothers: George, Meredith and Jim. Joe was the proud Papa of 6 grandchildren: Morgan Wagner (Ryan), Bradan Brothers (Katie), Michaela Denton (Jesse), Peyton Brothers (Kayla), Kamden Brothers (Aliya) and Faith Brothers as well as 10 great-grandchildren: Calvin, Hudson, Rustin, Kershaw, Rose, Jonah, Brock & Braxton (twins), Emersyn, and Joseph. We love you Papa! Love you forever...

Special thanks to Cathy Henry who provided respite care to help mom out over the years. You have been a God-send.

Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at Valley Church, 2900 Life Way, Caldwell, ID on February 8, 2025 at 12pm with snacks and fellowship to follow at the same address.

As one of the kids from Southside Blvd School I played softball with Joe & Jim Henry. I was 2 grades younger than them but they included me in the school activities. I´m sorry for your loss. May you all find comfort in knowing he is waiting for you with his big grin & open arms for that first hug.
