Judy Dillon Obituary

Meridian - Judy Blackmer Dillon passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025 at Touchmark Memory Care after a long battle with dementia. Judy was born in Centralia, Washington on January 7, 1941 to George "Bud" Jerread and Donna Crown Jerread as their only child. As a young child they moved to Idaho. She was raised in Gooding, Idaho. Her father was a funeral director and owned the Funeral Home in Gooding. She married Lloyd Blackmer after high school, they had two children, Julie and Jeff.

Lloyd worked as a manager for the Idaho Department Stores and was transferred every 4 years to get stores up and running. They lived in Caldwell, Lewiston, Burley, Pocatello and Payette. They purchased the store in Payette and renamed it Lloyds Department Store and were able to finally lay down some roots. She was a stay-at-home mom until Julie and Jeff started school.

While in Payette, she worked for the Payette School District, first in the Junior High and then was promoted to the Business Office and retired as the Business Manager for the Payette School District. Lloyd and Judy ended their marriage after 30 years.

She married Richard "Dick" Dillon in 1994. In retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Palm Springs with friends, traveling and seeing the world, golfing, going to movies, and visiting with friends and family. They enjoyed 30 years of marriage.

Judy is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Dillon, her daughter Julie Tensen and son-in-law, John. Her son Jeff Blackmer and daughter-in-law, Sharon. Her 6 grandchildren, Kristyn Anderson (Dr. Cole Anderson), Brad Tensen (Hannah Purdy), Austin Blackmer (deceased), Nichole Blackmer (Brandon Cockrum), Matt Blackmer and Grace Blackmer (deceased) and three great-grandchildren, Max Anderson, Jacqueline (Jacq) Tensen and Margaret (Maggie) Tensen. She is also survived by three siblings Larry Jerread (Sharon), Cheryl Stanger (Charlie deceased), and Ronda Minshew.

The family would like to send special thanks to the wonderful staff at Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village and Keystone Hospice for the special and loving care provided to her the last three years.

Dear Julie. Jeff and families, I am so sorry for your loss. Judy lived two doors down the street from me when we lived in Payette. We visited often, played cards together and traveled together. Standing atop the Matterhorn in Switzerland together is a treasured memory. She was a thoughtful, caring person and I will always cherish the wonderful memories of her as a loving mother, loyal friend and all around lovely lady. She will be greatly missed. May you all find comfort in the many memories she has left for you. Rest in Peace, Judy. You were loved by many.
