Clyde Hamp Obituary
Clyde was born on May 8, 1929 in Soda Springs, Idaho the son of George William and Pearl Mirinda Larsen Hamp.
At age six he and his family moved to Grace, Idaho where he lived until 1948. In 1948 he joined the United States Army where he served in the Korean War.
Clyde married Virginia May Hemmert on August 23, 1949 in Conda, Idaho.
Together they lived in Conda, Idaho; St. Charles, Idaho; Butte, Montana and in Soda Springs, Idaho for the last 55 years.
Together with his wife they owned and operated the Caribou Plumbing and Heating for 30 years. He also worked in well drilling, mining and had worked in maintenance with the Soda Springs School District.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Clyde always helped others and enjoyed remodeling, working in his yard and fishing.
He was a loving husband, father and friend.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Virginia of Soda Springs, ID; and two sons and one daughter; Curtis and Janet Hamp of Meridian, ID; Ron and Jackie Hamp of Soda Springs, ID; Sonia and Griff Davis of Soda Springs, ID. Also surviving are 12 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers Carl G. Hamp and Kenneth W. Hamp and three sisters, Elnora James, Blanch Meads and Marvel Hamp.
Services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at noon at the Soda Springs LDS 1st Ward Chapel (361 South 3rd East). The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
