Davita Busacker
POCATELLO - Davita Lynn Busacker, 46, Pocatello, passed away October 27, 2012, at a local medical center, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle against cancer.
She was born in Laurel, Mississippi, to Roger and Rose Ann Blackwell on March 25, 1966. She attended school in Jones County, Mississippi, graduating from Northeast Jones High School in 1985. She attended Jones County Junior College, graduating in 1987. She received an associate in arts degree in laboratory technology from Clover Park Technical College in Tacoma, Washington, in 2001.
She joined the Army as a medical specialist in 1988, and was assigned to Fort Lewis, Washington, and was honorably discharged in 1992.
She married Kevin Busacker on June 18, 1994, in Pocatello, Idaho.
Davita enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing with her family. She also enjoyed blues music and playing the guitar.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Busacker, son, Dalton Busacker, and daughter, Britttany Busacker, all from Pocatello. She is also survived by her mother, Rose Ann (Hickner) Blackwell, sister, Melinda (Steve) Drummond, and brother, Scott Blackwell, all from Mississippi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Blackwell, and all of her grandparents.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Portneuf Cancer Center and especially to Dr. David Ririe for their compassion in caring for Davita.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Cornelison Funeral Chapel, 431 North 15th Ave. Pocatello, with the Rev. Janie Gebhardt of the First Congregational United Church of Christ conducting. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday.  Interment will follow services in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Pocatello, with military graveside rites by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. 
Memorials in Davita's memory may be given to the American Cancer Society online. 
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com.
