Edgar Bamberry Obituary

Edgar James Bamberry, 88, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 26, 1936, in Emmett, Idaho, to William and Ethel Bamberry. He lived most of his life in Idaho, with brief periods in Wyoming, Montana, New York and the Philippines. He attended Idaho State University for two years before beginning a lifelong career as an ironworker. He later served as the Business Manager for Ironworkers Local 732 and was a proud member of the Building Trades.

He married Marie C. Bamberry in Cabadbaran, Philippines.

He was previously married to Gleda Bamberry, who passed away in 1990.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, swimming in the ocean, gardening, and building. He was a man of quiet strength, known for his dedication to family and hard work.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; his children, Debbie D. Roedel and her husband Richard of Nampa, ID, Derek J. Bamberry and his wife Karen of Minot, ND, Deidra Hansen and her husband Douglas of Pocatello, ID, and Kirsten F. Bamberry of Blackfoot, ID. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Clemm of Troy, I; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gleda; his parents, William and Ethel; and his siblings, Bill Bamberry and Freida Clemets; and his grandson, Jacob Hansen.

"He built more than structures-he built a legacy."

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Red Lion Inn, 1555 Pocatello Creek Road in Pocatello, Idaho.
