Forrest Churchill Obituary

Forrest Lee Churchill
March 11, 1942 - July 11, 2017
Lee Churchill, 75, passed away at his home on July, 11, 2017 surrounded by his family after a long battle with kidney disease.
He was born in Winnemucca, Nevada to Forrest and Mona Churchill. His family moved to Pocatello where he attended schools and graduated from Pocatello High School. He attended ISU and shortly following joined the U.S. Army Special Forces parachuting unit. After returning to Pocatello from active duty, he met and married the love of his life, Marva Ward.
Lee loved drag racing his 56 Chevy and won many trophies. His car was a real "goer." He worked 3 jobs in his life. He was the front desk manager during his school years at the Bannock Hotel. He was then hired by Blocks Clothing Store, managing several of their stores. He, Marva and their children moved around to several of the store locations. He worked for Blocks for over 20 years. When the Blocks chain closed he became a realtor and was a broker for Gate City Real Estate Co. He worked there for 23 years until his retirement. He mentored several new agents at the office and enjoyed helping young couples buy their first homes.
Lee enjoyed camping and riding dirt bikes with his family. They joined the Pocatello Trail Machine Association 40 years ago where he and Marva served as officers for 10 years. They made many good friends in the club and enjoyed lots of good times. He and Marva also enjoyed riding their road bikes and took several fun trips on them.
He is survived by his wife Marva of 51 years, 3 children: Lisa Spencer, Angie Callaway and Clint Churchill; 5 grandchildren; three sisters, Sandra, Sue and Dara and one brother, Lance. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Britt Churchill. He was the best Dad and Husband anyone could ever hope for.
Family will receive friends at a celebration of life that will be held July 21, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd., Chubbuck, ID. In lieu of sending flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
