Howard E. Trautner
BLACKFOOT - Howard Elliott Trautner,81, of Blackfoot, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, in his sleep at his home in Groveland.
He was born October 27, 1927, in Clinton , Massachusetts, the son of Edward and Gladys Trautner. He lived his early years in Rhode Islandwhere he received his education. Howard lived in the East and came to Blackfoot on a naval reactor project with Electric Boat Company and has lived in Blackfoot since.
He married his bride, Eleanor Trautner, on June 20, 1953, in Westerly, R.I. They were married for 51 years at her passing on March 4, 2004.
Howard has worked as a pipefitter throughout his life but was also an accomplished carpenter who built two of his own homes. He was a life member of Local 648 Pipefitters Union and was also a member of the American Legion and Episcopal Church.
He enjoyed being with his family. Especially on camping, hunting and fishing trips.  He also enjoyed playing his guitar and woodworking and has made many birdhouses and clocks.
He is survived by his three children, Sally Lee (Alan White) Trautner, Dana (Linda) Trautner and DeeLane (Todd) Worley, all of Blackfoot; ten grandchildren, Katie Bench, Ian (Emily) Nate, Hope (Jason) Stoker, Jory Worley, Tianna Worley, Troy (Charity) Trautner, Cory (Anja) Trautner, Lisa (Rod) Sandoval, Jessica Trautner and Dana (Jordan) Christensen. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren, Casey, Jackson and Tatum Bench; Brock and Sawyer Nate; Cassie Stoker; Kaden Worley; Lexie Walker; Cole, Taye and Ashton Trautner; Bridger, Stone and Ryan Trautner; Malique and Mekhi Sandoval; Keira and Kale Christensen.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and again on Thursday for an hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post 23.
