Norman C. Gambling
MONTPELIER - Norman C. Gambling, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.
Norman was born April 6, 1923, to John and Minnie (Carlsen) Gambling in Liberty, Idaho. Norman grew up in Sharon, Idaho. He attended Fielding High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Doris E. Scheidigger. 
They were married in 1944, in the LDS temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. They began their marriage on their farm in Sharon, Idaho, where they spent 47 wonderful years. During this time they had their son, Steven J. Gambling.
Norman also worked for the Untied States Forest Service for a number of years. He retired at the age of 62. He also spent his spare time running a 200-acre farm by the saw mill in Sharon, Idaho, with his brother, Carlyle. They also, along with CD Skinner, were in the logging industry. 
He enjoyed being outdoors and in the mountains. He never feared a little hard work.
Norman and Doris moved to Montpelier, Idaho, in 1991, where they spent their remaining years. They enjoyed attending Senior Citizens together. They also enjoyed taking rides together around Bear Lake.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, his parents, John and Minnie (Carlsen) Gambling, his brothers, Carlyle, Grant and Roscoe, sisters, Betty and Elma (Connelly) Gambling. He is survived by his son, Steven Gambling of Montpelier, Idaho; grandchildren, Jesse Gambling of Montpelier, Idaho, Ashley Gambling-Kratzberg of Canon City, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Gambling of Evanston, Wyoming, Steffen Kratzberg of Canon City Colorado; nephews, John (Rhonda) Gambling, Lynn Gambling; nieces, Karlene (Rich) Combs, Kathy (Brent) Gruvman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011, at the Montpelier Fifth Ward LDS Chapel in Montpelier, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Paris Cemetery.
