Pamela 'Pam' Cartwright
SODA SPRINGS - Pamela "Pam" B. Cartwright, 59, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Caribou Memorial Hospital.
Pam was born December 13, 1949, the daughter of Gloyd L. and Geraldine Smith Bennett in Preston, Idaho. She was raised in Thatcher, Idaho, and graduated from Grace High School and then attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
She married Thomas Brent Cartwright on September 18, 1971, in Cleveland, Idaho.
Pam and Tom have lived in Soda Springs for 36 years, where she was a caring teacher. She had a special talent for loving and mentoring children.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pam enjoyed making beautiful flower arrangements, cooking and baking. She shared her talents with her friends and family and spoiled and loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; and one son and two daughters, Douglas and Heather Cartwright of Kimberly, Idaho, Meredith Ann and David Jahrsdoerfer of South Jordan, Utah, and Christa Lin and Brandon Schiess of Kimberly, Idaho. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; her father, Gloyd Bennett; two brothers, Roger and Annett Bennett of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Robert and Vicki Bennett of Pleasant Grove, Utah; and one sister, Louise and William Smith of Naples, Fla. She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Bennett.
Services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009, at noon at the Soda Springs First Ward Building (361 South 3rd East). Family will meet with friends on Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church and on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
The family suggests donations be made to the Soda Springs Education Foundation on behalf of the Elementary School.
Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home. Condolences may be made to the family at www.simsfh.com.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. She was a wonderful woman, teacher, and friend. i learned alot of great things from her in my youth. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Tom & family,

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Though the years have passed since we last saw you.... we've often thought of the wonderful friendship you extended to us. Pam was a really great example of a loving spouse & mother. She loved the youth and was a great teacher. Our prayers are with you always.
