Richard Phelps Obituary

MONTPELIER - Richard Wayne Phelps passed away August 30, 2012. He was born on August 10, 1963 in Montpelier, Idaho the son of Nora Jean Mack.
Richard grew up in Bear Lake where he gained a love for the outdoors hunting and fishing with his friends and family. Music was one of his greatest passions and he was a skilled guitarist. In Montpelier he met the love of his life and was married to Shelly Faye Stumpp on May 16, 1985. He was the proud father of 5 children, Amy Bowen (BJ), Jamie Twitchell (Robert), Zach Phelps, Richelle Morris, and Elizabeth Hottel (Jason). One of his greatest joys in life was his 13 grandchildren he endearingly called his little ducks: Natalie, Tessa, Tucker, Michael, Jennifer,Dylan, Tiandra,Tyce, Oaklee, Kenyn, Adryk, Coye, and Treyson.
He worked many jobs and became skilled in many trades. He found joy in helping those around him and could frequently be found helping his friends and neighbors. Richard had many friends and valued his relationships with them highly.
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren as well his mother, brothers, and sisters: Robert Dey (Jasmine), Loralie Nemcek (Eric), Steven Babe Meyers (Hailey), Brandy Uhrig (Roger Heimberger), Brook Sessions (Andy), and Dusty Payne (Tiffany Hymas). He was preceded in death by his brother, Travis Meyers and his grandparents Bert and Myrtle Knowles and Nora Gittins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Montpelier 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with the family at a visitation at Matthews Mortuary on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Monday at the church from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm. The interment will follow in the Montpelier Cemetery with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.

I`m at a loss for words Richard at one time called me his uncle till I told him wwe where cousins. That was 1986. My prayers are with the family. I will miss running into to Richard. When you meet a true friend the telepathy fills your heart with warmth.
