Richard Ridgway Obituary

Richard Lawrence (Larry) Ridgway
MERIDIAN - Richard Lawrence (Larry) Ridgway passed away in Meridian on October 27, 2011. He fought gallantly for 21 months with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Larry was born in Hailey, Idaho, to Harold "Whitey" and Mae Ridgway on April 8, 1944.
He attended schools in Hailey and graduated from Wood River High School in 1962. He went to ISU in Pocatello, Idaho. He married Ruth Anne Christensen on July 24, 1965. They have two sons, Rick (Sue) of Boise, Ron (Carole) of Meridian, and daughter Kris (Jared) of Meridian and eight grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Katelyn, Jace, Trevor, Nick, Jared and Bryson.
Larry worked for FMC from 1965 until 2001. They lived in Alabama for 2 years and then moved to the Treasure Valley to be close to their children and grandchildren.
He is survived by two sisters, Nancy Ridgway of Portland, Ore., and Sally Ridgway of Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Harold, and his sister, Sue.
A memorial service will be held at Mission Aviation Fellowship, 112 N. Pilatus Lane, Nampa, Idaho, on Saturday, November 5th, at 11:30 a.m. Remembrances may be left for the family online at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.
In lieu of flowers, the Ridgway family requests those desiring to honor Larry's memory, may do so by contributing to either R-S ALS (MDA) C/O 4583 Silver Spur Ave. Boise, ID 83709 or Treasure Valley Hospice, 8 6th Street North, Nampa, ID 83687 or Crossroads Alliance Church 1400 N. Cole Rd., Boise, ID 83704.
