Todd Hoffman Obituary

Todd Allen Hoffman
POCATELLO -Todd Allen Hoffman, 37, of Pocatello, Idaho passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 after a courageous year-long battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer.
Todd was born on June 1, 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert and Linda McCune Hoffman. He was raised and attended school in Nyssa, Oregon and graduated from Nyssa High School in 1991. He then attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho for one year before serving an LDS Spanish-speaking mission to Riverside, California from 1992-1994. He returned to Ricks College after his mission where he met Stephanie Sloan. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 2, 1995. Todd and Stephanie moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1996 where they attended school at Idaho State University. Todd graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management in May of 1999. Shortly after graduation, he began working at Convergys in Pocatello and worked as an Operations Manager there at the time of his death. He and Stephanie were blessed with three children, Tyler-11, Megan-9 and Braden-5 who were his pride and joy.
Todd was a wonderful son, husband and father. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. Todd was happiest when he was in the mountains. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings throughout his lifetime. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and had a strong testimony. He loved his wife and children and was an honest, loyal, hard-working and patient man.
Todd is survived by his wife, Stephanie Sloan Hoffman, his children, Tyler, Megan and Braden, his parents, Robert and Linda Hoffman of Aberdeen, Washington, his sisters, Cindy (Allen) Wilkins of Deepwater, Missouri, Robin (Grant) Stock of Garden City, Missouri, Kerri Hoffman of Aberdeen, Washington, and Gina (Jeff) Seeman of Tumwater, Washington, and his grandparents Donald and Esther Hoffman of Santa Cruz, California, and Joan Schulthies of Nyssa, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Clifford McCune and Ray Schulthies.
The funeral will be held on Monday, August 23rd at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Chapel, 1440 Lakeview in Pocatello. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Taylor Cemetery east of Shelley, Idaho. There will also be a viewing Sunday evening, August 22 at 7 p.m. at Downard Funeral Home, 241 N. Garfield in Pocatello. An account has been set up for donations at Westmark Credit Union under Stephanie Hoffman to help the family with expenses.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the nurses and staff at Access Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional care that they provided to Todd and his family and also to Lance and Diane Peck at Downard Funeral Home for their genuine care and compassion. Todd will be greatly missed, but we know we will be together again someday.

Stephanie,
I am sincerely sorry to hear of your loss. Though I never knew Todd, I know supremely well the caliber of woman that you are and have no doubt of the caliber of man he certainly was as your husband. May the peace of the gospel help you through this very difficult time. My family prays for you and hope you feel the love of the Savior - who I know is watching over you.

Stephanie and family, my heart breaks for you at this time. Please know that you are in my heart and in my thoughts. Though we never met, I know that your path crossing with Trent and Holly was guided by the Savior. Todd is in such a wonderful place. He will always be with you. Jo Hartnett (Trent's mom)

My thoughts and prayers go to Stephanie and kids. I can only imagine what you are going through. Todd was strong, loving, caring, and gave more than even expected in return. He is missed but never forgotten.

Todd was an amazing person, friend, and coworker. It's hard to find someone who is half the person Todd was. He is missed by everyone.

Words cannot express the sorrow at this time of separation. Todd was a great man, a great leader, a great member of the LDS Church, and most of all a Great Husband and Father. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Todd and Stephanie's family.

I have known Todd during the time I have worked at Convergys. He has always been a supervisor that was available if you needed to talk to someone and was always willing to help you however he was able. He was also a member of my ward and would always say "hi" to me when we passed in the hall or chapel. I am sorry to see him go, but am glad he is no longer suffering. I wish his family all the best and my prayers will be with you in this time of need.
