Tyler Nield Obituary

Tyler Scott Nield
BOUNTIFUL, Utah - Tyler Scott Nield, 35, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his home in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born in Boise, Idaho, on March 8, 1977, the sixth of nine children born to Thomas and Karen Nield. When he was 5 months old, his family moved to Pocatello, where he attended Chubbuck and Ellis elementary schools, Hawthorne Junior High and Highland High School, where he graduated with honors.
He served in the Philippines-Tacloban mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On January 2, 1999, he married his high school sweetheart, Amy Christine Richman, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they brought into the world four children: Jaxson (10), Addyson (7), Halle (4), and Ava (2 months).
Tyler earned an electrical engineering degree from Utah State University and a juris doctorate specializing in intellectual property from the University of Utah Law School. He was most recently employed at Symantec in Orem, Utah.
Tyler enjoyed being with his family. Some of his greatest joys were taking his son, Jaxson, down the biggest waterslides and highest roller coasters. He also loved skiing, boating and spending time with the Richman family. An avid BYU fan, he cheered with his brothers until his voice went hoarse over every touchdown and 3-point shot.
Tyler was a great athlete; he excelled in many sports, especially basketball. He shared his talents as he coached and mentored his son. He was intelligent, witty and clever, bringing laughter and fun to every family gathering. Tyler was also very creative: He made and edited family movies, was a self-taught guitar player and a gifted poet.
Compassion and tenderness were characteristics of his heart. Tyler's sensitivity allowed him to serve and include others; he was always the first to lend a helping hand and was the first to help others feel comfortable and accepted.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; son, Jaxson; daughters, Addyson, Halle, Ava; parents, Thomas and Karen Nield; in-laws, Bruce and Ranee Richman; siblings, Eric (Nancy) Nield, Carrie (Rodney) Chandler, Chris (Dayna) Nield, Bryan (Tonya) Nield, Benjamin (Tracy) Nield, Troy (Lacy) Nield, Abigail (Travis) Hull; brothers-in-law, Matthew (Anna) Richman, Brian (Brittany) Richman; sisters-in-law, Aleesha and Ashley Richman; and 27 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Joshua Nield (brother), William and Viola Nield (paternal grandparents), and Henry and Ilene Hurst (maternal grandparents).
Tyler loved his wife and children dearly. He will be sorely missed.
Funeral services for Tyler will be held Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chubbuck Stake Center, 450 James Street, Chubbuck, Idaho. The interment will follow the services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
His funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, 238-8000.

Amy and family....we are friends of Tom and Karen from Boise/Meridian and our hearts are full of love and sweet memories of them and their sweet family. Tyler was just a young baby when they moved out of our ward and headed for Chubback. Our daughter, Shannon, learned of your loss just today through a common acquaintance and called to tell us. We were clueless until just today. We are so sorry to learn of this great loss for your family. May Heavenly Father wrap his arms of love around you and your family as well as Tom and Karen and family as you all seek for comfort and understanding. This has got to be tough, but the love and support of family and friends, as well as the support from The Comforter can help carry your load of grief. We are so sorry and will keep you in our prayers.

Amy, I am so sorry to hear about Tyler's passing. I enjoyed working with him at Kunzler & McKenzie. When I first arrived there he went out of his way to make me feel welcome. Tyler would diligently come around the offices and gather a group for lunch, and he always made sure I was included. I was glad when we got to work on a project together. Our prayers are with you and your family at this time.
