Anthony James (A.J.) Dean (25) was born March 23,1993, in Caldwell, Idaho to Leslie Dean Webb and Lee Roy Dean. His bright blue eyes and warm dimpled smile were enough to melt the hearts of everyone around.
From the time Anthony was in Kindergarten, all he talked about was being a pilot in the Air Force. When AJ turned 16, his mom took him to the recruiter's office. Sgt. Henry was very helpful in getting him on the right track. He even offered to let Anthony participate in some unofficial activities after school on Wednesday's. Anthony scored in the 90's in the area of mechanics on his ASVAB. That paired with a couple of nightmares about flying changed his mind about being a pilot.
Anthony graduated from Basic Training and went to tech school to become a crew chief mechanic. "His" aircraft was the remotely piloted Global Hawk RQ-4B. Anthony's sister and mother figured out fairly quickly that they could get him riled up by referring to his aircraft simply as a drone. Anthony was proud of his job in the Air Force and of the things he was afforded because of his job.
Anthony recently purchased his first family home, which he often referred to as "The Dean Farm". It was an 8 acre spread that he was so proud of that he took videos and pictures before the closing was even started. Anthony had big dreams for his family in their new home in Manvel, North Dakota.
Outside of work, A.J. enjoyed hunting, mudding, and snowboarding. Mostly, he loved hanging out with friends and family. Anthony's greatest love was for his wife, Chelsi, and their two beautiful little girls, Kaytlin and Avri. He was so proud to be their daddy.
Anthony left behind his mom, Leslie Dean-Webb and step dad Craig Webb of Caldwell, Idaho, maternal grandfather, Albert Holmes of Council, Idaho, and his father, Lee Roy Dean. Anthony is also survived by a sister, Kayla Brenton (Kameran) of Caldwell, brother Kristofer Dean of Payette, brothers Craig Webb and Johnathan Dean of Caldwell, sister Tabitha Cannon (Justin) of Pacific, Washington, and honorary brother Jeremiah (Elvis) and sister Savannah (Marie) of Caldwell, Idaho. Anthony has a Step-Sister Stephanie Wells and Step-Brother Jesse Webb, who both reside in Alabama. He has a nephew, Preston Brenton of Caldwell, and a niece Grace, and nephew Gary, both of Washington. Anthony has several aunts, uncles, and cousin's as well.
Anthony was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frances and Earnestine Dean, and also by his maternal grandmother, Charlotte Holmes.
Chelsi Kay (Boogie Butt) Dean (25) was born September 19, 1993 to James Scott Duncan and Karen Duncan in Nampa, Idaho. She was a very adventurous and outgoing child.
From day one, Chelsi could light up a room with her smile. She was a Beauty Queen in t-shirt and blue jeans. Of course her ensemble was not complete without her trusty cowgirl boots. Chelsi was a tomboy, but was so proud to be crowned Queen in the 2010 Old Fort Boise Days Pageant.
Chelsi loved sports, dancing, and the great outdoors. Chelsi's dream was always to become a firefighter like her daddy, who tragically lost his life when she was five years old. Chelsi loved taking pictures and established CKD photography. After dabbling in other things, like Child Care and Medical Assisting, Chelsi fulfilled her dream. She became a volunteer firefighter shortly after the family moved to Manvel, North Dakota.
Chelsi and her family lived in Parma for most of her life growing up. As fate would have it, they moved to Caldwell when Chelsi was a Freshman in high school. That year, Chelsi met the love of her life, Anthony Dean, while attending Caldwell High School.
He was a Sophomore who played football. She played girls basketball. They were both smitten from the beginning. One day, shortly after they met, Chelsi told her mom "I'm going to marry that boy someday." They had their fair share of squabbles and breaking up throughout their high school years, but they were soul mates and destined to be together. They got married and had their oldest daughter, Kaytlin in 2013. Avri came along in 2017.
Chelsi left behind her mom, Karen Duncan of Caldwell, Idaho, maternal grandmother Sue Lancaster or Parma, Idaho, Paternal grandparents Jim and Edna May Duncan of Billings, and Ella Voise of Ekalaka, Montana. She is also survived by her brother John Lancaster Harwood (Kacie) or Caldwell, Idaho, a sister, Misty Lancaster Martin of Nampa, Idaho, and honorary brother Jasper Martin. She has 3 nephews (Christian Morrison, Tanner Martin, and Remington Harwood), and 2 nieces (Abigail and Hannah Martin). Chelsi also has numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Chelsi was preceded in death by her father, James Scott Duncan, a sister, Kimmie Jo Lancaster, maternal grandfather, Dale Wayne Lancaster, and paternal grandfather Don Voise.
Kaytlin Merie Dean (5) was born May 1, 2013 To Anthony and Chelsi Dean, in Ontario, Oregon. From the time she was born, she had everyone wrapped around her little finger. Her laughs and giggles melted the hearts of everyone who met her. At home, Kaytlin was mostly a daddy's girl. When he was deployed, she loved seeing and talking to him on the "compuger". She loved her mommy, unicorns, and her big girl school. Kaytlin had a special bond with her Grandma Leslie and Nana Karen that they will always cherish.
Kaytlin was such a spitfire and daredevil. She was not afraid to try anything. She had so much energy and was always busy. She loved to have tea parties, read books, and create things with play dough. Kaytlin loved her big girl school in Manvel, North Dakota and all of her friends there, in California, and in Idaho. She recently joined the Manvel Freeze ice hockey team and was so proud of that. Kaytlin had a heart of gold and a personality that sparkled more than a unicorn rainbow. In 2017, she was more proud to become a big sister than she was of anything else in the world.
Avri James Dean (20 months) was born on March 15, 2017 to Anthony and Chelsi Dean in Marysville, California. She was a mommy's girl from the start. She was such a sweet baby. Her heart was so big for how little she was. She had a sparkle in her eyes and loved to cuddle… when SHE wanted to.
Avri loved the camera as much as her mommy and sister did. When somebody said "cheese", her eyes would light up and she would give you the biggest, "cheesiest" face you can imagine. She loved baby dolls, playing in the mud, and dogs. Right before Thanksgiving, Avri discovered that play dough was one of the best things on Earth.
Anthony, Chelsi, Kaytlin, and Avri lived together, loved together and laughed together. On November 22, 2018, It was also their fate to also perish together as one. They are survived by many people who love them and will miss them always and forever. Rest in peace angels.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 9 AM at First Assembly of God Church, Caldwell, Idaho. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that guests bring a toy for the Toys for Tots holiday toy drive. Condolences may be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
