I am so sorry to hear of Barbara's death, I was planning to write her about Ed. I just learned about Ed's story and want to tell the family how much his honor and valor means to me...a person none of you know.

I received an email about Ed's rescue of injured men in Vietnam and I was very touched. If you have not seen the email, please email me with your address and I will be happy to forward it to you.

You father, and I suspect, your Mom too were real heros and people to look up to. Sincerely, Lisa Hickman, Texas

My heart felt condolences to the Freeman family. I met Barbara and Ed many years ago when I was a waitress at Vic Haus food and Drink, they would come in with all their friends on friday nights to have dinner and dance. Ed was always the entertainer, his stories of all of his and Barbaras's life experiences were so fasinating. Barbra had some good stories about Ed too! I am proud to have had the privilege of knowing both of them and hearing the wonderfull stories of their children and grand children. What a dynamic couple.

My Grandma was a very special lady. I am so blessed to have had so much time with her. Not only did I know her into adulthood but she was a huge part of our kids lives. Cooper and Bronco were the sparkle in her eye! I am going to miss her more than you all will know. But she is now with Grandpa and they are together again! I love you Grandma and please watch over all of us!!! Cooper told me to tell you to tell God and Grandpa hello!

Mike, Doug, and family,

It has been an honor and privilege to know your mother and father. As you know, Bob and I stayed in their home during our "backpacking trips to Idaho. Both Barbara and Ed were super great to me and I will never forget their kindness and hospitality. She sure could tell some stories on Ed. Jan's (wife) and my prayers are with you and family during this time in your life. I assure you, I understand what you are going through because both of my parents have passed from this earth.
God bless, Johnny and Jan Purvis

We are thinking of you all and wishing you the very best. My husband and I remember playing Pinochle with Ed and Barb on New Years Eve 2005 and dinners at my folks house many times. Ed's war stories would keep us entertained for hours. He and Barb had a very special relationship They were so much fun to be around. We miss them both.

I would like to send my condolences to all of the Freeman Family. Mrs. Freeman was a very sweet and gracious lady. My involvement with the Freeman Family was last year when I performed duties as the Idaho National Guard Assistance Officer upon the passing of Mr. Freeman. The family members, particulary Mrs. Freeman, Mike and Doug, were always respectful, considerate and kind during a very emotional time in their lives. I wish blessings and love to them all.

Mike and Doug,

So very sorry and shocked at your mothers's passing. She was getting around so well in June when we visited your father's grave. I am lucky to have had such a recent brief and pleasant reunion with her.
My sincere regards,

To the entire Freeman Family, I am so sorry for your recent loss. I'll never forget Grandma Freeman's famous chocolate cream pies (she always made a special one for me) or her willingness to open her house to anyone who needed a special place to share a Thanksgiving holiday! She and Ed were so involved in the lives of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and sledom missed a ballgame or event. They truly were special people, and I am glad to have known them. -Kim Brydges (Boise, Idaho)
