Barney Hardin Obituary

Barney L. Hardin
1931-2014
In God's perfect timing, Barney Louis Hardin passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 15, 2014. The middle of 3 sons, Barney was born September 25, 1931 in La Mesa, Texas to sugar beet and potato farmers Lee and Ava Hardin.
After high school, Barney served in the US Navy for 4 years. It was during this time that he gave his life to Jesus Christ and to whom he served faithfully for the rest of his life. He then attended the University of Oregon where he met and married Lillian Beebe, who would become his lifetime love and sidekick in all adventures to come.
After their marriage in 1956 and graduation in 1958, he started his lifetime career at the Interstate Commerce Commission and eventually moved to Boise, ID.
Barney retired in 1983, but too much life was yet to be lived. He obtained his Real Estate and Broker's license, which included building houses and investing in rental properties. Aside from work, he lived an adventurous life of backpacking, skiing, camping, sailing, international traveling, and perhaps his favorite of all—flying airplanes. He thoroughly enjoyed church camp-outs and social gatherings where he could converse with friends about anything--Barney never knew a stranger.
Barney is survived by his wife Lillian, brother Bill (Priscilla) Hardin, and children: Elaine Hardin, Mary (John) Petitgirard, Daniel Hardin and Nancy Frank. He is also survived by grandchildren: Zackary, Tasha, Nicole, Matthew, Rachel, and Michael.
A celebration of his life will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1824 W. 3rd Street, Meridian, ID, 83646 on May 22, 2014 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bowmanfuneral.com

Lillian & family,
I phoned Barney when last in Idaho, so we knew of your health challenges and have been praying here. Still it is very much a time of needing God's comfort at this point in our earthly journey. We are thankful for the years of friendship with your family and how God has blessed through it. Remembering his love of sailing, Barney and his Lord Jesus are now waiting for us on the other shore.
