Charles Richards Obituary
1923 to 2013
Charles Warren Richards passed peacefully from congestive heart failure on June 24, 2013 at the age of 89, surrounded by his loving children. He was born to Marguerite and Harry Richards in Boise, ID, where Harry was a partner in Kowallis & Richards. Charles graduated from Boise High in 1941.
He was a Captain in the Army Air Corp in WWII as a Meteorologist and Flight Control Officer. He later graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He worked as a Nuclear Engineer for the Hanover Nuclear Plant in WA., and at the Santa Susana Nuclear Field Laboratory and Atomic Energy Commission (DeSoto Complex) in CA. When he retired, he spent many days on the golf course.
Beloved father and friend, he will be remembered as a caring and generous man.
He will be greatly missed by his 5 children and their families: John and Debbie Richards, grandson Aaron, and g-granddaughter Aarika; Cynthia and Bob Spertus, granddaughter Marguerite; Jeff and Vicky Richards, grandchildren Cortney, Mark, and Heather; Julia Richards and grandson Ewing; Linda Richards; exwife LaVerne Richards; his brothers Larry Richards, Timothy and Kay Richards, and niece Lynette. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Scott Richards.
Charles' ashes will be scattered at sea. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

I remember you Chuck as a good, kind man who put others needs before his own. I am grateful for the love he showed to Ewing who he treated just as he did he biological grandchildren. He was a wonderful father-in-law and opened his heart to me also. We miss you.

He was one of the sweetest and kindest men I have ever met .... adored being around him. Was thankful to have such a wonderful father-in-law and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family.

It was my loss to have never met this fascinating man that my special cousin, Julia, has described to me on numerous occasions. While he almost made it to 90, it sounds as though he still had a great deal to offer. My condolences to Julia and the rest of the family during this time of remembrance.
