Ed Baker Obituary

Edward Baker
1921 - 2015
Ed Baker was born on July 30, 1921 in Portland, Oregon, son of Henry and Mary Baker. He was the fifth of ten children. He died on June 15, 2015 at home in Boise, Idaho where he resided for the past 18 years.
He was very proud of his family, which includes his son, John Baker (wife, Jane); and his daughters, Glenda Graham (husband, Bob) and Becky Richardson (husband, Bill). His wife, June, passed away in 2008 after 65 years of marriage.
Prior to his retirement and move to Boise, he was a true Oregonian. Ed held numerous claims to fame in Oregon, such as founding the Oregon Shoe Repair Union. In 1957, he became an insurance agent for Oregon Farm Bureau and was the developer of the Oregon Insurance Examination Curriculum. He taught the classes for the Oregon Insurance Examination until his retirement in 1990.
Ed was known for his remarkable perseverance. No matter what the task, he taught his family the value of kindness, compassion, empathy, intellect, and generosity.
His greatest love was the love he had for his grandchildren: Buck Graham, Kathleen Graham DeLoye, Jennifer (Kielsen) Baker McMullen, Jeffrey Baker, Michael Richardson, and Danny Richardson; and great-grandchildren: Matthew and Paisley Graham; Graham, Breann and Cody DeLoye; and Declan and Caitlyn Jane McMullen.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise. Family and friends are all welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed's name to the March of Dimes or a charity of your choice.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Ed's memorial webpage at www.summersfuneral.com.

To the dear families , I send my condolences to you on the loss of your love one, I do not know you personally, but it is amazing that he live such a long life, not many of us do. Think of the changes he must have seen in this world during his life time. May the God of all comfort be with you at this time of sorrow. Psalm 90:10
