Beth Erickson Services for Elizabeth "Beth" Erickson, 77, of Emmett, who died Monday in a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday June 14, 2007 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd. in Boise. Services are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel Emmett. Beth was born on Jan. 14, 1930 at Midnight, Miss. to Grady and Dolly Pearce. She was reared and educated in Mississippi. Beth came to Idaho in 1948 along with her mother and older brother, Ed and two younger brothers, Franklin and Chuck. Beth married G. Frank Smith in 1950. Together they raised Larry Edward and Patricia Ann in Emmett until the time of his death in 1966. Beth was a room mother for her children and involved with the PTA. She worked in the fruit packing plants and in the orchards in Emmett. She married Ralph Godfrey in 1967 and they lived in Emmett until his death in 1974. Beth was a member and past president of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary in Emmett. She was also District 4 VFW president for five years. She volunteered at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise for 25 years. On Oct. 15, 1975 Beth married Gerald (Jerry) Erickson, and with this marriage she gained additional children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beth loved reading western novels and watching baseball games. She is survived by her by her husband Jerry Erickson of Emmett, a son Larry Smith of Phoenix, Ariz. and his children Sarah Gilmore of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Eli, Michael, Matthew Smith of Phoenix, Ariz. and Steven Bailey also of Phoenix; a daughter and son-in-law Pat (Bob) Jacobsen of Caldwell and their children Scott and Brent Jacobsen of Nampa; a brother Chuck Pearce of Emmett, and a sister Lisa McFarland of Florence, Miss.; Jerry's children Gary (Vickie) Erickson of Medical Lake, Wash., Dennis (Patti) Erickson, Cheryll Erickson, and David Erickson all of Spokane, Wash., and Mary (Ronnie) Naccarato of Meridian, Idaho, and a total of 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a granddaughter. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Idaho Veterans Assistance League P.O. Box 7191 Boise, Idaho 83707.
