Izeyah Yenter Obituary

Our angel, Izeyah Anthony Yenter, 10, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully into the awaiting hands of the Lord on Jan. 28, 2006 after a courageous 15-month battle with a brain tumor. Funeral services, celebrating his love of life, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1320 W. Bannock, Boise. Interment will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home. Izeyah was born in Boise on Oct. 15, 1995 to Tera Yenter-Jones and Derrick Trask. He was the oldest of four children. He attended Maranatha Christian Preschool, followed by Spalding Elementary, where he was a fourth grader this year. Izeyah enjoyed so many different things but attending church, going to school, playing basketball and football, participating in Cub Scouts, telling silly jokes, rapping, watching movies, playing video games, fishing and camping, traveling, getting together with family and friends, listening to rap and hip-hop music, helping his mom take care of his little brothers and sister, singing in the Spalding Singsations choir, and showing off his hip-hop dance skills were among his favorites. He also loved to collect things including his treasured pressed coins, state quarters, Disney trading pins, pocketknives, and hats. After seeing Festival of the Lion King, a live Broadway musical show during his last trip to Disneyworld in January of 2005, Izeyah decided to adopt Timon and Pumbaa´s "Hakuna Matata" motto, meaning "no worries, for the rest of your daysÉ" and that is exactly how he lived each and every day. He was a friend to everyone that he came into contact with and he constantly went out of his way to make people smile. His kind and gentle charisma, as well as his selfless spirit touched thousands of lives and he will be dearly missed. Izeyah had many ambitions which included playing Optimist football in the upcoming season, joining the St. Paul Gospel youth choir, attending middle school at Lewis and Clark and high school at Mountain View, going on to Boise State University, getting married to Jadelyn and then taking over her dad Mike´s towing business, having two children, living in a mansion, working for his Grandpa Rob, and having lots of dogs. He also had plans of becoming an artist and a famous chefÉ.but God obviously had even bigger plans for him. Izeyah is survived by his mother, Tera Yenter-Jones of Boise; his father, Derrick Trask and step-mother Becky Trask of Boise; his brothers and sister, Davion Trask, Daeshon Trask, and twins that he referred to as the "babies", Alijah and Aaliyah Jones, all of Boise; his great-grandparents, Warren and Juanita Yenter of Boise; his grandparents, James and Polly Kasson of Nampa, his grandparents, Larry and Betty Hawkins of Meridian; his granddad, Charles Trask of Palmdale, Calif.; his nanny, Jacqueline Trask of Boise; his grandma, Vickie Martell of Boise; and his grandparents, Robert and Mary Fairweather of Bellevue, Wash. Izeyah is also survived by his best friend and girlfriend since first grade, Jadelyn Cullum of Meridian; and many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family at any Key Bank branch, Acct. #126 123000013.

It was our pleasure to meet Izeyah. The little time we spent with him was such a lifting experience. We have never met anyone so young with so much love and concern for his family. His thoughts of his family came first. Tera, the grief you are feeling is unimaginable. Our hearts go out to you and your family.

Tera, Izeyah was such a dear, sweet incredible young man. I hardly knew him, but the impression he's left on my heart is something I'll always treasure. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing your precious son, but take comfort in the Lord and never forget how much love he had for you. He truly was rare and loving and showed me the power of hope in God. May God richly bless you and all of your family during this time. Many thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Last year at Camp Magical Moments I couldn't help but think what a selfless act of love it was for Izeyah's mother to send him to spend a precious week away at camp. Izeyah spent that week giving so many selfless acts of love to others. As a recipient of both yours and Izeyah's love, I want you to know, that I know that Izeyah lives; only now he lives a life of pure pleasure, without the pain and suffering of this earth. Thank you for the opportunity to feel His love. I look forward to the time when we all will meet again and sit down with our Savior and Father in Heaven.

It is an honor to have gotten to spend the week with Izeyah at Camp Rainbow Gold. His smile, rapping, hip-hop moves, and genuine spirit touched us all. I will never forget Izeyah trying to teach me his "signiture move." What a blessing to have had this short time with such a beautiful soul.

Tera,

Thank you for sharing such a gift from God with us. He has taught us all a great deal, more than any 10 year old that I have ever encountered. It was a true blessing to know and spend time with him. Whether he was hitting me up for Skittles from my candy machine (often asking for some for Daeshon, as well) or coming in at recess to tell me a silly joke; it was the highlight of my day to see him and know that I was his friend. I will miss him dearly. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless!

What a treasure Izeyah has been in my life. We met at Camp Magical Moments. He thought it was so funny that I had been bald from cancer also. How lucky we were to have him in our life. What a dancer!!! He was the best dancer during the moon dance. He will be in my heart forever.

Tera,

What an amazing son you raised in Izeyah. His strength and faith could move mountains and he was wise beyond his years. We all know without a doubt God had much bigger plans for him, and I look forward to the day when they are revealed to all of us. Although I didn’t spend a lot of time with Izeyah, he left an impression on my heart that I will never forget. I just hope I can learn from him and trust God like a child and never ever forget who is in control of our lives. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
