Jimmie Lakey Obituary

Jimmie Dale Lakey Jimmie Dale Lakey, 73, of Caldwell, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Middleton, downtown. Viewing will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Jimmie was born June 9, 1934 to Dale and Lucille Lakey at St. Luke's Hospital, Boise. He graduated from Boise High School in 1952 and the U.S. Naval Academy in 1956 and served in the U.S. Navy. He later flew commercial jets for USAIR. Jim loved his flying career. Jim put his wife and children first in his life. Jim's love of the gospel of Jesus Christ was exemplified throughout his life. He gave ultimate encouragement to those who came to him with a heavy heart. Jim's crowning jewels were his children. His favorite expression to his children was that they were princes and princesses of a Heavenly Father and to conduct themselves as royal heirs. Jim possessed a keen intellect and searched out the deeper meaning of life. Jim held judgments to himself and always verbally expressed an outpouring of love to his family and friends. No one will ever fill the huge void left in all of our hearts. You have taken a piece of our hearts with you. Until we meet again and celebrate our most joyous reunion ever. Your loving family. Survivors include his wife, Anne Marie Lakey, Gregory Scott and Lorie Lakey, son of Utah; Krista Diane Lakey, daughter of Colorado; Renee Kathleen and Sam Bayouth, daughter of Oklahoma; Karri Ann and Sean Skelton daughter of Japan, Wendy Ann and Jared Elzea daughter of California; Sarah Marie and Andy Weir, daughter of Arizona; Jennifer Dale and Michael Jensen daughter of Idaho; James Caleb and Suzy Lakey, son of Germany; Elizabeth Lucille and Adam Fullmer daughter of Idaho. 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters, Janet Wilder of Meridian; Barbara Brown of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
