So sorry to receive the obituary of Fr. Salberg. I have many happy memories of his days at St. Luke's-in the-Meadow. He played a big part in my life when he "recruited" me to start the St. Luke's Parish Day school.

I have especially fond memories of Tracy, his step-daughter, who I taught in Kindergarten.

My prayers are with you all.

Sincerely,

I was a student at All Saint's in Fort Worth when the school was in the basement of the church. Fr. John was then, and has always been my favorite priest. I remember how kind and funny he was and how all the childred loved him. God bless your family.

Fr. John, oh how I wish we had reached you prior to Mother's death in March. She spoke so highly of you during her 81 years of life and recounted many of her childhood stories revolving around you and Helen Dixon Hughes, Hamlin Johnson, and others. She had me find your number, but with her throat cancer and COPD was reluctant to speak to anyone as she was very difficiult to understand. I'm sure you two are catching up on lost time as you prepare for others to join you in the decades to come.

Know that when we intern Mother in the Hall mausoleum on August 16th, that prayers will be said for you too.

I'm glad we had a chance to meet! Godspeed Fr. Salberg!

Dear Martha & Family,
I am so sad to learn of Fr. John's passing. He was a very dear friend of Bob and me besides being our favorite priest. I have thought of you two so often and will miss him knowing that he is gone. God bless and keep you in the hard days ahead. Much love and prayers....

Psalm 116 tells us that the Lord rejoices in the death of His saints. Fr. John was a saint. The Stouffers and the Salbergs/Fjeseths have a long history. God bless all of us. I'm sure Fr. John and Mom are reliving old times even now!
