Joshua Reardon Obituary

Joshua Reardon
May 4, 1981 - July 10, 2021
Nampa, Idaho - Joshua Michael Reardon was born on May 4th, 1981, at the Torrejon Air Base hospital in Spain. He died suddenly in Donnelly on July 10th, 2021 from a rare and unpredictable cardiac event. He died while fishing and kayaking, which, for those that knew him, meant he was happy.
He was a curious and fearless kid; qualities that drove him to seek out skateboards, trampolines and other implements of childhood self-injury, much to the chagrin of his parents (mostly his mother.) Josh's journey to adulthood was marked by struggles not unfamiliar to those who love teenagers, however, his determination not to be defined by his challenges and his persistence in rising above brought him to a healthy and productive life. In his early twenties he married Sara Scott and they had two amazing children, William and Olivia. He was a devoted and proud dad and was always seen on the sidelines as he supported his children in all their sports and activities.
In December of 2018 his family grew again when he married the love of his life LaDonna Storkel and became step father to her children Robert, Megan and Adam. Once again, he demonstrated that his capacity for love and support was neither conditional nor limited and that he enriched the lives of everyone he met.
He settled into work life in his mid-twenties: first as a janitor in a call center, then as representative in that call center, then moving on to workforce management and training. Having once preferred to avoid talking to people and dealing with their problems, he blossomed both professionally and personally when he discovered he was gifted at listening and helping any way he could.
What he was really good at, and what he loved the most, was working on cars. In January of 2018 he went to work at Eagle Auto Repair, first as a technician and ultimately as a manager, once again taking the role of the extrovert communicating about his passion. On what would be his next to last day at work he texted his loved ones a picture of himself behind the wheel of a Lamborghini with the caption "This job has its good days."
Josh is survived by his wife, LaDonna Reardon, his children William and Olivia Reardon and step-children Robert, Megan and Adam Storkel, his sisters Katherine Reardon (Eamon Harrity) and Ashley Viseth, and his parents Sue and Scott Viseth and Mike and Jill Reardon.
Josh always had room in his heart for helping people and for animals. True to his nature, his dream was to join the Peace Corps and he worked hard, when life allowed, to finish his degree so that he could follow that dream. While time ran out for him before the dream was realized, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to express sympathy consider a donation in Josh's name to the Peace Corps or the West Valley Humane Society.
There will be a small gathering and celebration of Josh's life for family members and intimate friends, but no public memorial service is planned. May his memory be a blessing.

Josh was truly an amazing person with a huge heart! Josh worked as my janitor at first then he become my right hand man who together we learned a lot about trying new things. He was so proud to be a dad to William and Olivia. They motivated him to be the best he could be. I feel blessed to have known him. Rest easy my friend!
