Judy Wohlert Obituary

Judy Kay Wohlert

January 7, 1947 - December 18, 2023

Lapwai, Idaho - Judy Kay Wohlert, 76, of Lapwai Idaho, slipped from our arms and ran into the arms of her Savior on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023. Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, she leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity and passion for her family and friends. Born to Wesley and Carol Lyons of Boise on Jan. 7, 1947, she was raised by a military father who loved to fly and spent many hours as his co-pilot when she was a child. She was married to Ronald Wohlert at the age of 23 and they embarked on a lifelong adventure that included the birth of their son, Matthew, a move to Missouri and years in the travel industry that took her around the world. As anyone who knew her can attest, she threw herself wholeheartedly into whatever she set her mind to. She spent 16 years working at the Nez Perce National Historical Park and devoted her time and energy to honoring the traditions of the Nez Perce people. She delighted countless school children with her animated tours of the museum. She learned to bead and applied her talent to the art of making cradle boards, each tiny detail stitched with love and care. She loved the Lapwai Wildcats and cheered them on to many victories. Judy held hands with the sick and hurting and her fervent prayers availed much. She could throw a gourmet meal together in 30 minutes and never left home without her lipstick. To be hugged by her left her scent on your clothes for hours. Through tragedy and triumph, she poured all she had into supporting others and stood fearlessly with her friends and family over the years. A Proverbs 31 woman, she truly was a gift to her husband and everyone who knew her. Her absence leaves a void that will never be filled. We are delighted that she is now in eternity with her King.

Judy leaves behind her husband Ronald Wohlert, her children Rachel Walsh, Matthew Wohlert (Libia), Kimberly Brand (Peter), and Shane Wohlert; her granchildren Zoe Walsh, Aidan Walsh, Ronnie Wohlert, Ryan Wohlert, Christian Wohlert, Heather Bickish, Scott Bickish (Mickayla), Christopher Wohlert, Courtney Wohlert and Caitlin Wohlert; and two great grandchildren.
