Katelyn Siron Obituary

Katelyn Marie Siron
1993 - 2018
Katelyn Marie Siron, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend passed away into the presence of God on February 18, 2018 in Seattle, WA. Our dear Katy was born May 4th, 1993 in Boise, Idaho. She was raised in Eagle, Idaho and attended Eagle Elementary, Eagle Middle, and graduated from Eagle High School in 2011. Katy moved on to college at Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, WA and graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in Music Therapy. She did a short practicum experience in Guayaquil, Ecuador at a children's therapy center. She completed her internship at Langley-Porter Psychiatric Hospital in San Francisco. She was currently working towards her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University.
Katy was known for her compassionate and caring personality. Mixed in was a wonderful sense of humor and strength of character that came through to all who knew Katy. She was always thinking of others, wanting to help out those in their time of need, and she had a humbleness that was a trademark of her personality. She was adventuresome and enjoyed climbing, hiking, and loved being in the mountains, where she found a true sense of peace. Many summers were spent with her family, her Aunt Jo Ellen and Uncle Doug, and cousins Paul and Anne Marie at Redfish Lake in Stanley, ID. She shared special bonds with many friends. She loved cats, coffee, cooking/baking, reading, and making/listening to music. Katy loved creating arts and craft projects, which she shared with many of her family and friends.
Her first best friend in life was her younger brother, Matthew. Many days were spent in their youth making plays, having sleepovers, singing songs together, building forts, watching movies, and all of the things that a brother and sister share in life.
Katy loved music from an early age. She learned to play piano and continued with this into her college years. She also took up percussion instruments, guitar and ukulele, and of course, developed a love of singing through her involvement in choir from middle school into college and being part of a women's chamber choir, Ancora in Seattle. She was active in 4-H and the Boise YMCA Swim Team. Katy loved dancing and was involved in the Boise Cloggers from her elementary through high school years.
Katy worked most recently as a counselor at Center For Discovery; and also for Navos, a mental health treatment center in Seattle. She loved working with teens and helping to make a difference in their lives. She developed friendships with many of her co-workers at both agencies as well as other places that she worked at over her college years. Katy had a positive impact on all who knew her and is greatly missed.
Katy is survived by her parents, Matthew and Gail Siron and her brother, Matt of Eagle, Idaho; a grandfather, Wayne Thomas of Nampa, Idaho; numerous aunts and uncles including, Dan and Nancy Siron of Arlington, TX; Mike and Jan Siron of Meridian, ID; Sandi Bunyard of Hermiston, OR; Doug and JoEllen Siron of Kennewick, WA; Mark and Lynne Anderson of Anchorage, AK; and numerous cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Eagle Christian Church, 100 Short Ln, Eagle, ID 83616 on March 2, 2018 at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Idaho Youth Ranch for At-Risk Children and Teens, c/o Katelyn Siron Memorial.

Gail and Matt,
You and your family are in my prayers. I pray that over time you will be able to remember the laughter, the smiles, and the hugs and kisses you shared with Kate. I pray that these memories will help heal the emptiness in your hearts until the Lord brings you together again, in heaven, where she waits for you with open arms.
