Lorraine Matheus Obituary

Lorraine Maxine Matheus, 87, passed away on July 30, 2010. She was born on November 27, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the youngest of five children and was raised in Omaha. On a trip to Southern California after her high school graduation, Lorraine met her future husband, Norman Matheus, at a skating rink. They were married on April 6, 1946. After the war, Lorraine and Norman settled in Southern California and they raised their four children. Lorraine and Norman moved to Boise in 2002 to be near family. Lorraine loved life and had many interests. She loved to cook for her family, sew, and was a huge baseball fan. She also enjoyed Bible studies, card games and any activity involving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorraine had a rich sense of humor and a spunky spirit. She was still jumping on the trampoline with grandchildren at 68, and when she was in her 70's she rode the stratosphere roller coaster in Las Vegas. Lorraine is survived by her four children and their spouses, Bill and Sue (daughter) Boyles, Lou (son) and Irene Matheus, Wayne (son) and Sharlene Matheus and Rich and Cindi (daughter) Klena, her 12 granchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Matheus, and her great grandson, Jack Winchester. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 17 at 10:00 am at Meridian Friends Church on 1021 W. Pine Avenue, Meridian, ID; (208) 888-2721.

I loved Lorraine and norm. We had so much in common and Lorraine was loved by her grandchildren and it was a joy to to see how they responded to her. I enjoyed our lunches and root beer floats. Wish I could attend her services but I can't make the trip from California. God bless all her family. Lee Wadlow
