Julia & Irene Franklin

September 10, 2010

Although, I had heard about Aunt Mabel Black, and Dad would point out her home everytime we went by, my mother, Irene Franklin has fond memories of seeing Uncle Dean and Aunt Mabel at Christmas on the Franklin family farm in Kuna.

Everyone would gather together, Aunt Ida, Eda Franklin, my grandmother, Aunt Helen and Uncle Bernie, Aunt Mable and Uncle Dean and all the Franklin Boys, their wives and their children, with Aunt Catherine making the great yeast rolls. We would all sit in the large farm kitchen, share stories, laugh and have a Christmas of memory.

Though those times are long gone, and we have lost all of that generation, we can still look back on the times that are in our memories and smile as we hear once more the stories coming from around that Christmas Table.
