Marc Marz Obituary

Marc Lyndell Marz
Nov. 11, 1952 - Nov. 23, 2012
Marc L Marz, 60, of Boise, Idaho lost his bout with cancer and passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side and moved to God's house on November 23, 2012.
Marc was born in Boise, ID on November 11, 1952 to Frank & June Marz. He attended Hillcrest Elementary before his family moved to Meridian, ID where he finished his schooling and graduated from Meridian HS.
Marc helped build many homes in the Boise area when he worked for Marz Construction and later owned a hay retrieval business that allowed him to meet a lot of new people in the valley and the mountains, many who came to be close friends.
Marc married Vicky Whisitt in1970, they had two children, Christopher and Kimberly, they divorced in 1990. He shared the last 22 years of his life with Joyce Riley. Marc is survived by Joyce Riley, his children: Christopher Marz, Boise,ID and Kimberly Marz Cullin, Meridian,ID, two step-children Andrew Riley, Parker, CO and Amy Riley Smith of Lake Havasu, AZ., his brother and sisters: Bud Marz (Judy) of Meridian,ID, Kelly Hern (Alex) of Spanaway,WA, Brenda Colberg (Doug) of Mesa,AZ and Ruth Parker (Ron) of Meridian,ID and his very dear friend Vicky Marz of Meridian,ID. Marc was preceded in death by his parents William Frances Marz and June Emiline Grimm Marz.
Marc has 6 grandchildren that hold a special place in his heart that will remain forever with him in Heaven. Anyone who knew Marc knows he loved spending time with family and friends, his cars, hot-rods and playing piratical jokes, but his passion was riding motorcycles in the mountains.
The family would like to express their appreciation and send a heart felt THANK YOU to the very special friends and awesome neighbors who helped Marc through the last months of his time with us and made him laugh till he cried and remember the "good old days" as if it happened yesterday.
Marc and his family would also like to send a special THANK YOU to the angels of Legacey Hospice who made his move from this Earth a much easier trip.
A Memorial Service will be held at Ten Mile Christian Church, 3500 W Franklin Rd, Meridian, Idaho on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Legacy Hospice, the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

We were friendly, but not that close in our high school days. So it was indeed amazing that I would see Marc at the Boise clock shop while back in Idaho in 2010. We immediately recognized each other and had a nice visit; he was very kind and gentle in his manner that day - something that impressed me a great deal. I realized I had not really known him that well all those years previous at MHS. That 'chance' meeting back in 2010 really impacted me and I have thought of Marc since that time; so was saddened to learn of his passing. I wished I had known him better! Our sincere condolences on you loss.
