Nadine "Dede" Honeyman Wilhelm

Nadine "Dede" Honeyman Wilhelm passed away on July 17th in Kennewick, WA following a brief illness. Dede was born July 28, 1927 to Ronald James and Suzanne Caswell Honeyman in Portland, Oregon. She was a 4th generation Oregonian from two pioneer Portland families – John Kiernan crossed the Oregon Trail in 1862. His wife, Sarah Ingram, crossed with her parents in 1852. They all settled in Portland and the Willamette Valley. William Honeyman emigrated from St. Andrews, Scotland, to Portland in 1871.
Dede attended Ainsworth Elementary School, St. Helen's Hall High School (now Oregon Episcopal School), both in Portland; and Finch Junior College, New York City.
She married George McIntosh Wilhelm in 1952 in Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Portland. George was a graduate of the California Institute of Technology and the Harvard Business School. They lived in Portland until moving to Walla Walla in 1957 and to Boise in 1959.
Her activities included the Junior League of Portland and Boise, Fort Boise Questers, Boise Family YMCA, Boise Garden Club, Women of Rotary and the Idaho Botanical Garden. Dede served on the Board of Directors of the Boise Family YMCA and was a member of the Boise Greenbelt Committee and the Bogus Basin Advisory Board. She enjoyed skiing, tennis, gardening and a very special group of fun ladies who call themselves the "lunch bunch."
Following George's death, in the summer of 2010, Dede moved to Memphis, TN to be near three of her grandchildren. A second move took her to Scappoose, OR and then to Kennewick, WA in August, 2012, still following her grandchildren! Her son, Peter McIntosh Wilhelm, had married Christa Helga Sasser of Kennewick, WA in July 1994.
Her survivors include son David Standish Wilhelm and grandson Damian MacIntosh of Mercer Island, WA; son Steven Honeyman Wilhelm, Meridian, ID; and son Peter McIntosh Wilhelm, his wife Christa and their three children, Caitlin Sarah, Sydney Paige and Peter James McIntosh Wilhelm all of Kennewick. Her brother, Ronald C. Honeyman, lives in Bellevue, WA. Nephews and nieces; Craig and Jeffrey Honeyman of Portland; Jane Rude of Bend, OR and, Douglas and Gordon Wilhelm and Sarah-Lee Terrat, all living in New England.

a favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 3rd, 2:00 PM at St. Michael's Episcopal Cathedral in Boise, Idaho. Inurnment will be at River View Cemetery in Portland at a later date.
