I had the pleasure of working with Nolan at Fannie Mae. It is well known that Nolan was a great guy, and he always treated me like a good friend even though we only saw each other occasionally. Just an example of what a thoughtful and giving person he was; whenever Nolan flew his plane down to Dallas, Nolan would bring along a 12-pack of Kokanee for me since he knew I liked it and that it wasn't available in Dallas. I will always remember Nolan fondly, and I pray for peace for him and his family.

I met Nolan for the first time and only time in March. And that was enough to know what an awesome loving an incredible human being he was . My condolences to his local friends and family .

Condolences to all of Nolan's family and loved ones. After our meetings in Dallas a few weeks ago, Nolan told me about many of his adventures skiing, hiking, rafting, camping and many other activities. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

So sorry to learn about Brads nephew, Nolan. I didn't know Nolan, but he was our daughters age and sounded like a wonderful young man. Our family were friends of Brad and knew his grandparents Ada and Allen. We worked together on the Sister Cities committee for the city of Pocatello. Our condolences to Allen and Ada and your family. May your many memories of Nolan be of comfort to you in the months ahead.

Nolan lived life to the fullest - I loved hearing about his adventures. I just talked to him when he was down in Texas several weeks ago and as usual he was positive and fun to be around. He will be missed!

Nolan was a very special and dear friend to me! We were roommates for a year in the east end and buddies for a long time. I remember our intellectual conversations about science while I was in nursing school and thinking to myself how dang smart he was! He would do anything for his friends and had a heart of gold. He became part of my family, coming with us to every BSU tailgate, Braun Brothers, and many other get-togethers. He put a huge smile on our faces and made us laugh at all times. He will be missed more than words can express. We love you Chip!

One of the first people I met on my journey to becoming a successful single mom, you helped in so many ways! That's not including the holidays with your family, golfing because you knew I wanted to, giving my little "chica" old things you'd otherwise throw out. Indeed one of a kind and I'll never forget our trips. Walking back to the plane with half of your shorts is a story that will live forever! We had a great run and kiddos and i will never forget.

My brother, there are no words to describe how much you'll be missed. Your laughter, generosity, kindness, endless jokes, and most of all the adventures we shared will forever live in our hearts. Thank you for every memory and for taking us on one last adventure into the beautiful country you loved. You left us in style living out your passion. I know you wouldn't have had it any other way. Goodbye my friend. We will never forget you.

As can be seen in many of the comments, several things resonate from Nolan. His zest for life, thrill of adventure, and strength of character are at the top of my list. Being around Nolan, his passion and excitement rubbed off onto others. You knew you were in for a treat; rafting the fastest river, skiing the deepest snow, or drinking the most whiskey. Nolan would be leading the way with a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and having the time of his life. We should all be so lucky to be close to Nolan. The void left by his passing is immeasurable, and will never be filled. He will be missed tremendously. I can only hope I can keep some of that passion, zest, and joy; and use it to live the remainder of my life with even a fraction of his passion, zest, and joy.

First met Nolan in new hire training at FNMA in 2012. It was a very diverse group. Me from Texas, Greg from Chicago, Butta from Florida and Nolan from Boisee..(not BoiZee as i quickly learned). It was a pretty amazing thing.. we all worked hard together, learned our new job and became basically brother's too this day.. Always staying in touch when Nolan and Butta went back home to work remotely. When they were in town they stayed at our houses, cooked out in the backyard and drank many pops with us. The last time I saw him was when I dropped him off at the airport Friday after his week here in Texas. He wanted to ride with me rather than take a cab, and I'm really glad he did. We stopped for tacos, rode in the rain to the airport, talked and laughed, gave him a hug and said see you next time like we always did. And that was it... Some of my favorite memories are when he flew his new plane from Boise to the redneck Riviera (aka the Texas Gulf Coast) and vacationed with our families for two years. With his trucker hat and his orange sunglasses..he fit right in. I personally feel like I've lost a little brother.. but I'm probably not alone there.

Nolan was an amazing and loyal friend that was always ready to have fun under pretty much any circumstance. I have never been hugged more aggressively by another person. He will be missed and remembered by many.

I am glad that Nolan was in town a few weeks ago and everyone got to see him. We had a conversation about how much he loved living in Idaho and how beautiful it is there. Whenever he came in town, he would tell us about his adventures. He was on my team for the last several years at Fannie Mae and he will be missed by everyone here. My prayers go out to his friends and family.

Nolan was one of the most life-affirming, energetic, spontaneous, intelligent young men I have met. I remember him with great affection from his days at BK and as a friend of my daughter. A life well lived and too short.

As we continue to grieve and try to process the incredibly tragic loss of our team member Nolan earlier this week, the only solace I can seem to find and offer is in the fact the he lived such a full and admirable life in that short time. I think we would all aspire to be able to look back at our own lives and say that we truly lived instead of just existed. I also find some comfort in knowing that he has made an incredible impression on all of us that knew him and his memory and inspiration will live on. I would suggest that part of honoring his memory would include prioritizing more time in our lives for the ones we love and actually doing the things in life we always wanted to do versus putting them off. We just can't put off living our lives until tomorrow and I am so thankful and inspired that Nolan did not.

I am so glad we got to see Nolan in Dallas several days ago...showing up as always with that kidlike grin on his face, happy, and so full of life. That will be my takeaway from his short time on earth...live life to the fullest, take risks, and love as hard as you can. He literally soared through this life and we're all the better for it...such great memories we have. I believe heaven must have gotten a little boring last Sunday and needed a pick-me-up. Thank you Boise for sharing Nolan with us...we Texans stand a little taller for having known this true gem!

Nolan, losing you has left a whole in the heart of your Fannie Mae family. As with all those who knew and loved you, we will never be the same without your talent and wit to help keep us on track and make us laugh. While we only had you in our lives for the past seven years, you have left a life long lasting impression on so many of us in Dallas. You had a passion for life that most of us only dream about. You will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.
