Phyllis Emacio Obituary

Phyllis Joan Stroud Emacio 1933 - 2011 The Angels came for our Mom on October 11, 2011. She was born December 30, 1933 to Horton and Veda Bell Stroud in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Our beloved Mother ,the Consummate Army wife, married William John Emacio on June 12, 1954. William (and Mom )started their career in the US Military in 1954. They traveled the country to various places of duty along with two tours to Europe. Mom made many lifelong friends and was an outstanding Officers wife. Her greatest challenge was raising her three children Debra, Jeff and Mitzi while her husband served two tours in Vietnam. They moved to Coeur D' Alene Idaho when William retired in 1978. Afterwards, Mom worked for Linde HomeCare, a home care service until she retired in 2000. She later moved to Nampa Idaho to be closer to her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Mom loved flowers and spent many hours working in her yard. She enjoyed vacationing with her family, loved to go camping and to have her family over for weekend BBQ's. Phyllis is survived by her brother, Clayton Stroud (Bev), daughter Debra, Son Jeff (Nancy) and daughter Mitzi (Patrick). Grand Children, Cheryl Glandon, Amanda Howell, Corey & Emily Gumm, Janelle (Eric) Nye, Grant (Krystal) Johnson. Great Grandchildren, Rochelle Wilson, Edward Seitz, Garrett & Ainsleigh Nye, and Kailee and Gracen Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents Horton & Veda Stroud, a brother Loren Stroud, husband William Emacio and a Son-in-law Albert Darrin Gumm. Many thanks to Heart & Hospice Home Health, Mountain States Tumor Institute and Idaho State University Speech and Language Clinics for the caring staff and support provided. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to one of the providers listed above. A viewing and reception will be held on Friday Oct. 14, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book may be signed at www.nampafuneralhome.com
