Dear Patrick, Christopher & family,
My sincerest condolences on your personal loss of a very special & talented father, son, brother and friend. I met Richard when I moved to Boise 8 years ago. Being self-employed at the time with very few personal or professional contacts, I attended Capital City Communicators business lunches to "network." At my first meeting, I had the good fortune to sit next to Richard who was so kind, helpful and supportive. For many meetings and CCC events, Richard would be that friendly face in the crowd, & I always enjoyed sharing professional ideas with him. I know he was highly respected for his work, and was happy for him when he joined Healthwise. Whenever I'd see Richard, he always spoke so fondly of you, Patrick & Christopher. He was extremely proud of you both! I'm deeply saddened by Richard's passing, but am sincerely grateful for having known him - even for too short a time.
Respectfully,
Alicia Peterson

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Richard at Healthwise, though we didn't work on the same team. We'd chat now and then, and I found him to be a very gentle and kind man, passionate about life and about his kids. His presence is sorely missed here at Healthwise.

Patrick, Christopher, and family,
I am so sorry. I worked with Richard at Healthwise. He was smart, kind, and made us laugh. More than anything, he loved you, Patrick and Christopher. His biggest joy was being your dad. Please come visit us at Healthwise.

Dear family members of Richard,
I am a very new editor at Healthwise, yet in my first month I was honored to work with Richard on an innovation team project to define the role of translation specialist. Not only was Richard extremely knowledgeable, he was exquisitely generous with his knowledge and he was open-minded about new ideas and gave me the freedom to contribute as I could, even as a "newbie." Right away I felt his trust and his friendship--two signs of a big heart and a gentle spirit. I know I will get to know Richard from all my co-workers who knew him well. We will always remember your Richard: your dad, son, brother, friend, loved one. Take good care.

I worked with Richard at Healthwise for several years. Richard was very passionate and knowledgable about his work and made lots of "behind the scenes" contributions. I really appreciated his attention to the details many of us couldn't be bothered with.
Richard was also very caring, often offering me his wisdom and advice about parenting challenging kids -- something we had in common. After I left Boise, Richard was kind enough to send me an ocassional email to see how I was doing.
I send my hearfelt sympathies to his family, especially his young boys, and to my friends at Healthwise who are also dealing with his loss.

Dear Terra Family
I was very saddened to hear of Richie's death. Kent Laverty told me last night. I had lost touch with him after WR Junior High, but remember him well from grade school. I called my brother Pat, who was in class with him, and he was also upset. We both remembered Richie was always a very good person. He was also one of the "smart kids" in the class and you could always tell he had interesting ideas. I saw him around Boise once or twice in the last few years and he was always friendly, and interesting. I am sorry his time was cut short. He was a great guy, who lived a good life, and you honestly can't say that about that many people.
Steve Brown.

I am so sorry of your loss. I am a long time co-worker of Richard. We worked on different teams but both had offices on the third floor. We shared the same interest and skills and often talked about our current projects. I will miss him and will keep both of his boys in my prayers. He was so proud of his boys. His eyes would light up every time he talked about them.
May God be with you during this difficult time.
Terrie
