Rodolfo Wise Obituary
January 1, 1932 - January 29, 2013
Rudolfo "Rudy" Wise, 81, of Nampa, Idaho, was welcomed home by Our Lord on Tuesday, January 29th, 2013. He passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by those whom loved him most. He was one of ten children born to George and Romana Wise in Elgin, Texas. Rudy had just celebrated his 81st birthday on January 1st.
Rudy is survived by Margarita Wise, his devoted wife and partner of 31 years, son Alex and his wife Kelly, son Manny Broadbent, and his beloved grandson Derrek. From his first wife Belle, sons Rudy Junior, Frank Wise, daughter Bonnie Hunybutt, sisters Emma Castelano, Anita Mendieta, brother Arturo Wise, loving nephew Danny Wise, and numerous other nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Jessie, Tomas, and Gilbert Wise, sisters Lucia Pedilla and Josefa Campos.
Being big for his age, Rudy was able to enlist into the military at age sixteen, using means we will not mention here. He served his country proudly and bravely in the Army and the Air Force, volunteering for the Korean and Vietnam wars. After which, he was honorably discharged.
Rudy deeply loved his family and retired, for their sake, from bouncing at the O'Connor Field House on weekends at seventy-eight years old. He had a passion for treasure hunting at yard sales in his golden years and would often be found in his front yard planting flowers for his wife. Rudy was a loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather and could be counted on by anybody, anytime for anything. We love you Papa and will miss you until the day we are reunited.
A special thanks goes out to Ermelinda (RN) and the rest of the team at Horizon Home Health and Hospice, for making Rudy's care at home possible. The family thanks you from the bottom of their hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 8, 2013 at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel located at 404 10th Avenue South Nampa, Idaho with Dr. Larry Sweeney officiating. Rudy will be laid to rest at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell at 12:30 PM, honored by a flag-folding ceremony. Sorry to find this in the Tuesday Statesman, for I totally had full respect for "Rudy". I knew Rudy when I was working at the old Karcher Reel Theatre in Karcher Mall when he employed as a security guard there. We had many stories to share along with his adventures in his yard sale excursions. My condolences to the Wise Family.
