Ron Friedly Obituary
June 5, 1927 - April 17, 2023
Boise, Idaho - Ron Friedly was born June 5, 1927 in Boise, Idaho and passed away April 17, 2023 at 95 years.
He attended Franklin High School, served in the US Navy in WWII as part of the Greatest Generation, and after the war, continued his education at Milwaukee School of Engineering. During this time, he met and married Eleanor Klump on June 22, 1949. They moved back to Boise in 1953. Together Ron and Eleanor built a beautiful home south of Boise and raised two children.
As a proud veteran, from 1954-1964, Ron served in the Boise Navy Reserve. Ron loved Idaho and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the rivers camping with his family. For 60 years Ron and Eleanor enjoyed many adventures including RV trips to Arizona, vacations to Ireland and England, and mostly enjoyed several cruises. Another passion he and his wife enjoyed was square dancing in the Boise Community. Ron was a deacon at Southminster Presbyterian Church and later a member of Amity Methodist Church. He belonged to Capital Square Dancers, Rambling Rounds, and the Idaho Outdoor Association.
He is survived by his son; Keith (Toni) Friedly, daughter Ann (Steve) Lentz, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 11AM at the Meridian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. To share memories with the family, please visit Ron's memorial webpage on line at Cloverdale Funeral Home.

Ron sail on a few Holland America world cruises with my wife and I. I tried his phone this evening and seen it was turned off. To his children and grandchildren and other relatives he was a very good man. Always a joy to be around.

I love you Grandpa. We will miss you at least now you get to be by Grandma's side again. I have so many great memories of my childhood with you both. So many good times.
