Shane Chapman Obituary

Shane Bryan Chapman Shane Bryan Chapman died Aug. 29, 2007, in a local hospital due to head injuries from a motorcycle accident. Shane was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Brent and Connie Chapman on March 18, 1964. Shane married Julie Liston on Sept. 5, 1992, shortly after that they were blessed with building their family. Shane considered his greatest accomplishment to be his three beautiful children. He was a dedicated and loving father who always put the welfare of others above his own. Shane served a mission for the LDS church in Pennsylvania. His love and knowledge of the gospel was a source of great pride in his life. Shane owned Pioneer Drywall for 14 years and worked hard to make it grow into a well respected business throughout the Treasure Valley. Shane was involved in the Boy Scout program with his son Hunter and nephew Kenny. He always participated and donated his time and money to worthy causes within his community. He was fun loving and always had a smile on his face and a good word for those around him. Shane loved adventure and the outdoors and enjoyed each moment to the fullest. Shane also made a dang good loaf of homemade bread and scones that everyone enjoyed. Shane's circle of friends will forever be affected by the void created by his untimely death. His willingness to give of himself, and act as a father figure to the children of friends and family whose fathers were not there mark his life as an outstanding leader and compassionate human being. He will be missed and is loved by all. Shane was able to continue giving to others through organ donation. But the person that receives his heart will be the most blessed of all. Our family would like to say Thank You to his nurse Robin and Dr. Smith from St. Alphonsus for everything they have done for us and the support they have given our family. Shane is survived by his wife Julie of 15 years, his three children, Hunter age 13, Emily age 11, and Katie age 4. His nine brothers, Chris from Nevada, Martin from Louisiana, Aaron Chapman from Montana, Anthony from Nevada, Brandon and Cameron Hall, Nick from Idaho, Bill Vlamis from Nevada and Chris and Nate Hobbs from Idaho . His three sisters Lorri Chapman from Idaho, Christine Skogen from Colorado, and Demee Vlamis from Nevada. His step-parents Joan Wennstrom from Idaho and George Vlamis from Nevada. His father and mother-in-law Ken and Dixie Liston from Idaho. His sisters in law Sherri Liston, Melissa Hoffman and children, and Suzanne and Ryan Wiederich and children from Idaho. Funeral services will be held Tuesday Sept. 4, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church on Cole Road in Boise, viewing before at 10 a.m. Viewing to be held Monday 7 to 9 p.m. at the same location. Uncle Shane was one of the funniest guys I've ever met. He'd walk into a room and all of us kids would just crack up at some stupid joke he'd made walking in the door. I've got some really great memories of us all at holidays, weddings, Halloween especially. Remember the vampire getup? He was a great guy, a big goof, and I'm really going to miss him.

Shane was always a bright spot in our day--came in with a smile, and left us smiling. That's one thing we'll always remember about him--that cheshire-cat grin.
