Sondra Moore Obituary

Sondra "Sandy" Moore
August 9, 1945 - December 15, 2021
Boise, Idaho - Sondra "Sandy" Diane Moore, age 76, of Boise, Idaho, passed away at home on December 15, 2021. She was surrounded by the people who loved her most. Sandy was born August 9, 1945, and grew up in Boise, Idaho. She graduated from Boise High School in 1962 and relocated to California after the birth of her first child in 1968. Returning to Idaho several years later to raise her family, Sandy was known most for her vivacious smile, which could light up the room, and for her ready laugh. Sandy was an avid and talented tennis player, competing in many tournaments over the years - her favorite was any kind of doubles. She played with an incredible ability to be an intuitive teammate with her partner, tackling all matches with enthusiasm and skill. She was a very active member of the Boise Racquet and Swim Club for over 35 years. At BRSC, Sandy was happy to do everything from play in group leagues, plan parties for the members, organize tournaments, and work in the office and pro shop. The Racquet Club was also where she met the love of her life, Doug Moore. Sandy was one of the kindest souls you would ever meet - fierce in the protection of family and friends, quick with a laugh or to lend a hand, incredibly patient and loving with all of her grandchildren, and always smiling. Her other loves, besides Doug and tennis, included her beloved Boise State Broncos (I'm not sure they've ever had a more devoted fan), gardening, flowers, painting and crafts, golf, skiing, and traveling. Sandy also loved all things Christmas, earning her the nickname "Sandy-claus". The holidays were her favorite time of the year.
Sandy is predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Russell Jr. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Douglas Moore, her children, Tamara (and Donald) Wetherbee, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jason (and Mary) Kreizenbeck, of Boise, Idaho, and her stepson, Ryan Moore, of Boise, Idaho. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Hal, Joe, Sydney, Ava, Alexandra, and Drew.
There will be a celebration of life in mid-January in Boise. Sandy would have wanted everyone to enjoy holiday time with their families.

Doug, we just found out today about Sandy. Hope you are well. What an incredibly strong force Sandy was on the tennis court. She and Linda were certainly much better together. She once told me that she never felt nerves on the tennis court. Her shear will and determination was unbelievable. Off the court the love of flowers that we shared made our time together in your yard a real joy. Hang in there Doug. Miss you on the tennis courts... Jeff and Linda
