Suzanne Myers Obituary

Suzanne Myers

August 28, 1953 - October 8, 2023

Ola, Idaho - Suzanne "Sue" Myers moved on to her new adventure on October 8, 2023, surrounded by her husband and family.

She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, businesswoman, artist and musician. She had a great sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious, lighting up a room when she walked in. She was passionate about everything and confident in who she was and what she did.

Sue was born on August 28, 1953, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho. She was the oldest of three children born to Barbara and Richard Ragsdale. She was a beautiful happy toddler with curly blonde hair. She spent all but a few early years in Boise.

Sue was an incredible pianist and singer. While at Capital High she played the piano for the Concert Choir and played the piano and sang for the elite Capital Singers. She was very proud that Director Jerry Vevig chose her to co-lead the choir. She went on to attend Boise State University.

She married young and divorced young, but the marriage gave her one of her greatest blessings, her only child, Nathan Howell. She started a small business to support the two of them, an art supply and canvas business, Quality Art. After a few years she sold the business to her sister, Larene Stigile.

Sue met her husband Dale Myers when they were working together at a water testing laboratory. Together in 1986 they ventured out to start their own business, Alchem Laboratories. Sue ran the business office and Dale ran the lab and son Nate worked beside them, which made Sue very happy. Their water testing lab had an incredible reputation and their business thrived. Sue and Dale were loyal to their employees who in turn were loyal to them.

Sue and Dale built their dream home and weekend getaway near Ola, Idaho, with their beloved cats making the weekly trek with them. They decided to retire in January 2013, moving to Ola full time. She loved the wildlife that would show up in their backyard and the hummingbirds that made their yearly trek to their feeders.

In 2019, Sue suffered from a debilitating series of strokes. Dale took her home to Ola where he cared for her night and day until pneumonia caused her death. His love and loyalty never wavered. Dear friends and neighbors Joy and Denny Weaver were a blessing beyond words during this time providing much needed help and strength.

Sue's perspective was that it wasn't really death, it was just moving on to a new adventure. She is on her new adventure where she can talk, move freely and laugh again.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Larene. She is survived by her husband Dale Myers, son Nathan (Jodee) Howell, brother Randy (Debbie) Ragsdale, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was maybe 20 when she worked with me at a Phillips Petroleum station on Chinden Blvd, and she gave me a picture she had painted. She was always very special, to work with, talk with, etc. I am sorry for her loss, but know that she is doing well awaiting the rest of her family in heaven. Bless you, Sue!
