Thomas Nugent Obituary

Thomas James Nugent

July 13, 1968 - December 11, 2023

Boise, Idaho - Thomas James Nugent "Tom" passed away at his home on December 11, 2023.

Tom was born in Boise, Idaho on July 13, 1968. Soon after his birth he was adopted by the best parents in the world, Gale and Janie Nugent. He lived in Payette with his parents and two sisters graduating from Payette High School in 1987. Tom joined the United States Air Force in 1988 serving stateside primarily at Wurtsmith Air Base in Michigan. Upon his return from the Air Force, Tom attended the ITT Technical Institute in Boise receiving a degree in Drafting and Design Technology. He remained in Boise throughout his career. Tom was especially proud of his work these past 11 years as Structural Designer with Structural Edge Engineering. He and his family became very close to the owner David Sansotta and his family.

In 2002 Tom married Josee Freeman. They welcomed daughter Brooke in 2007, the apple of Tom's eye.

Tom will be remembered for his love of music. He enjoyed listening to music along with playing and collecting guitars throughout his life. Tom was so excited to travel to a concert this past summer with Brooke and was looking forward to many more such excursions. Tom loved his adventures from the Mountains of Idaho to Disneyland to the deserts of Moab to the Oregon Coast. A lot of people will remember him as a rambunctious child, building forts, leaping off buildings and telling wild tales. Those wild tales turned into a wicked sense of humor that will be missed by all.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathy Rose. We take comfort that he is in heaven with them now. He is survived by his daughter Brooke Nugent and sister Linda Ambalong along with his nieces and nephews.

We love you and will miss you for the rest of our lives. From the lyrics of one of Tom's favorite bands "The man of the hour has taken his final bow. Goodbye for now."

Internment will be at the Veterans Cemetery located at 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise at 1PM on Saturday January 13, 2024 followed by a reception directly thereafter at Structural Edge Engineering located at 5509 N Glenwood St in Garden City.

Tom was such a nice man and I was truly blessed to have known him. A big compliment he gave me a few years back was that I reminded him of his sister Kathy whom he loved very much. My deepest condolences go out especially to Tom's beloved daughter Brooke and his sister Linda. May Perpetual light shine upon Tom until we meet again! This photo was taken this past Thanksgiving at Dave and Nicolle's.

Nothing has sunk in. I keep thinking I should be calling you for advice or just to talk. I hope your hanging out with Kathy, mom and dad. I live you!
