William Kochevar Obituary

William J. Kochevar
"Gone from our sight
Not from our hearts"
Will was born February 4, 1956 in Leadville, Colorado and passed peacefully into the Kingdom of Heaven, on October 27, 2014 after a valiant, courageous 3 1/2 year journey with liver cancer.
Will was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, a source of joy to all who knew him. During his life, he loved to hunt, fish, golf, sports and the Zags. He loved life and was always known for his quick wit and intellectual knowledge. Will worked for the Social Security Administration as a senior attorney for the past 23 years and continued to work until his journey ended.
He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Theresa; his son Jacob, his sister Linda, aunts, uncles, in- laws, nieces, nephews and many colleagues and friends whom he loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Sacred Heart Medical Center, Inland Imaging, Deaconess Hospital, and Cancer Care Northwest for their kindness, love, support and care.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014, 10:30am, at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane WA with a celebration of Will's life to follow at O'Doherty's Irish Grille, 10208 N. Division (corner of Hawthorne & Division).

My deepest condolences to Will's family and friends. Will and I were little kids together in Idaho Falls; we grew up down the street from each other on Westhill. One of my fondest memories is of the time Will organized a Beatles band performance for Mrs. Baugh's class (4th grade). We made guitars out of cigar boxes, dowels, and rubber bands, put mops on our heads, and lip-synced to "Can't Buy Me Love" in front of the class. That was Will: always leading. We drifted apart in junior high and high school, and last I saw him he was working nights in I.F. to save money for college. I had really hoped to see him at our reunion this summer, and now understand why he couldn't make it. I'm very, very sorry.

Theresa, I am so sorry. I last saw the two of you when you and I worked at the Post Register. I was one of the ad salesmen. Will was one of the very few of the jocks who treated me as a friend. I will miss him and that smile that put everyone at ease.
