Dean Vaughan Obituary
Vaughan was born in Galax, Va., on July 8, 1937, to Robert Houston and Gladys Virginia Bartlett Vaughan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Corinne Hodge Vaughan; sister, Joan Vaughan; brothers, Freddie Vaughan and Michael Vaughan; son-in-law, Dwain Marsh; sisters-in-law, Becky Vaughan and Margie Vaughan.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Marsh and Rebecca Vaughan-Funk and Brian, all of Galax, Va.; sons and fiancées, Dean Robert Vaughan Jr. and Teresa Anauo of Galax, Va., and Richard Vaughan and Penny Mooney of Max Meadows, Va.; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Mauer of Oregon, Phyllis and Roy Bourne of Clemmons, N.C., Ella and Robert Miller of Independence, Va., and Carolyn and Saford Hawks of North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Rita Vaughan of Woodlawn, Va., Ronnie Vaughan, Charles Vaughan, Gaither and Jan Vaughan and Billy Vaughan, all of Galax, Va.; sister-in-law, Helen Hodge; brother-in-law, Wade Hodge; grandchildren, Katie Ali of Colorado Springs, Colo., Brett Anauo of Sylvatus, Va., Jessica Alkaya of Germany, Roger Alley and Alex Vaughan-Funk, all of Galax, Va.; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Atkins Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Billings officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
