Dewey Woods Obituary
He was born at home in Grayson County on Aug. 8, 1953, to Harding and Georgia Fortner Woods.
Survivors include his mother, Georgia Esther Fortner Woods of Independence; two sisters, Bonnie and Richard Barker of Independence and Brenda and Roger Brown of Jefferson, N.C.; one brother, Larry Woods of Independence; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside services to honor the life of Woods were conducted on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Grubb's Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Cheeks officiating.
While flowers are appreciated, memorial contributions may be made to the Grubb's Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Charles Funk, 14871 Comers Rock Road, Troutdale, Va. 24378.
Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home is serving the family.
