He was born October 2, 1929 in Whitetop to Jont Blevins and Edith Eldreth Blevins and also predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Blevins, two brothers, Lenvil Blevins and Bartie Blevins and two sisters, Reva Trivett and Geneva Shepherd.
Surviving are son and spouse, Bartie and Barbara Blevins of Troutdale; daughter and spouse, Brenda and Terry Thompson of Independence; three grandchildren, Brandon (Kasey) Thompson, Miranda (Zane) Sexton, and Travis Blevins; one great grandchild, Dakota Thompson; brothers and spouse, Grayson and Layla Blevins of Konnarock, VA, and Benny Blevins of Barto, PA; sister and spouse, Jettie and Bob Yeatts of Warrenton, VA, and Lola Faircloth of Fairfax, VA.
Funeral service was held Saturday, October 29, 2016 in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel, Independence, VA. Rev. Dennis Eller officiated. Interment in Corinth Cemetery, Rugby, VA.
Memorial contributions may be made to Independence Vol. Fire Dept., P. O. Box 588, Independence, VA 24348 or Rugby Rescue Squad, 1845 Rugby Road, Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363.
