Athanasios D. "Tommy" Tzaferis, 74, died Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Born in Karitsa, Greece, he was the son of the late Demetrios K. and Maria Katsoulis Tzaferis.
Mr. Tzaferis was retired from Pete's #6 in Easley and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
Surviving are sons, Demetrios Tzaferis of Anderson, and John Tzaferis and wife, Teresa, of Bargersville, IN; daughter, Mary Powell and husband, Tim, of Lebanon, IN; grandchildren, Demetrios Tzaferis of Lansing, NC, Layna and Luke Tzaferis of Bargersville, IN; brother, Kostas Tzaferis and wife, Olga, of Fairfax, VA; nieces, Mary Papanastasiou and husband, John, of Centreville, VA, Effie Tzaferis of Fairfax, VA; Debbie Veltsistas and husband, Pete, of Clifton, VA and nephew, Demetrios Tzaferis and wife, Suzie, of Aldie, VA.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Trisagion service at 10:15 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Greenville, SC.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bethesda, MD. Burial will be at National Cemetery in Falls Church, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 406 N. Academy Street, Greenville, SC 29601.

Mr. Tommy was such a sweet man I loved seeing him at Sam's club. He will be missed very much. I would always talk to him & tell him to have a great day. This is so sad :(
