James Christopher Hughes, 43, husband of Tabatha Dawn Campbell Hughes, of 121 Night Hawk Road died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home.

Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of Roger Hughes and Elaine Martin Phillips. He attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his father and mother, both of Ware Shoals, and his wife of the home are: his son, Andrew Hughes of the home, his step-father, Donnie Phillips of Ware Shoals, his sister, Laynette Hughes of Donalds, his paternal grandmother, Jean Hughes of Ware Shoals, his maternal grandmother, who raised him in her home, Savannah Martin of Ware Shoals, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Garry and Juanita Thompson of Craytonville, two nieces, McKenzie Hughes and Jordan Thompson, a nephew, Bubba Thompson, a great-nephew, due in January, Jase Thompson, and his special friend, Morgan Grant. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Larkin Hughes, Jr., and his maternal grandfather, Arthur James Martin, Jr.

Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Nix, Rev. Keith Crocker, and Mr. Jack Graves officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chris Hughes Fund, PO Box 242, Ware Shoals, SC 29692. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com

So sorry for your loss! I worked with Chris, for several years, at Patrick Harris Hospital.Every year he would bring me pecans for Christmas ,cooking.He had a great personality and always offered to help me, when i needed it.
